  "We were in a rush to find a place to eat before The Mavericks concert at The Usher Hall. So, although Bar Italia was very busy, we decided to take the chance and squeeze into one of the (few) empty tables. The service was prompt - it was only choosing from the extensive menu that slowed us up! Give..."n our rush, we ordered two mains, a bottle of white wine and some garlic bread. The wine arrived quickly, beautifully chilled and delicious. The food arrived shortly afterwards and was piping hot and very tasty. A quick couple of coffees and we were on our way to our show. The best surprise of all was how reasonable the bill was. All in all this place provided great service, delicious food and good quality wine, despite being very, very busy. The hostess told us to come back in about 40 minutes and when we returned, she gave us a great table in the window. Excellent cafe food--my wife's quiche, my goujons (superbly cooked fried cod with..." wonderful homemade tartare sauce), and daughter's Thai sweet potato cake, which she loved.
