"“La Gourmandine” has a French chef and the cuisine is “fusion”. Gourmandine is open daytime! It has a large variety of food products one can buy and take home too. There is a breakfast menu! And other choices are marked on black-boards, featuring soup, sandwich, or the daily special in various co..."mbinations with two or three salads added on the plate. The choice of salads is interesting, there are breads galore, yummy pastry, and beautifully packaged chocolates done right there.
You can combine your own dish by choosing from the beautiful display of exotic salads, terrine’s and other delicacies. I chose the daily special, a veggie-burger and herbed pasta, with three salads. It came on a large rectangular plate with a good cup of coffee, total $13.80. My friend opted for a large cheese bagel and coffee. Everything is prepared, freshly cooked and baked on location. "The meal was outstanding from the appetizer to the dessert at this restaurant within the Auberge Du Lac Des sables.. The ambiance of the mountain and the lake are enhanced by the grilled octopus salad, fresh salmon, and tasty chicken entree. The service was exceptional with a bottomless glass of wat..."er and an attentive server. The food portions were more than adequate and were pleasingly presented. We have stayed at the Auberge Du Lac Sables lodging many times before but never had better food than at this restaurant. The bar for authentic, delicious greek food is set very high by this restaurant and has given us yet another reason to return to this beautiful setting.

"This restaurant has it all. Charm and very good food, and friendly service. We especially like the format of either 4, 5, 6 or even 7 course dinners from their table d'hote menu. I had quail on a bed of snow peas served hot with a delectable sauce and my husband had duck foie gras with a chaser of..." ice cider. Then we had escargots, in a copper pan with mushrooms and another delicious garlic sauce [ not the usual garlic butter]. Then after a sorbet to cleanse the pallet, I had canard a l'orange and my husband had bouillabaise. Presentation as well as tast were excellant. I skipped desert but my husband had creme brule. This has become our favorite restaurant in an area renowned for good restaurants.
