Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed our dinner evening. Great food, good service . Great setting beautiful patio but….too many dogs allowed. While having a great dinner looking out at the lake only to see a dog having a dump on the lawn in front of you while your...having your meal. The owner was right there standing making sure it was on lease but please go somewhere with your beast.More

This was the second summer in a row we visited this wonder boutique hotel with us travelling from Alberta. The minute you walk in the atmosphere brings you back into a nostalgic feeling from the decor, music playing in the super cute check in lobby....Once you finish your check in the hall way corridor leading to the lake front patio (amazingly decorated) will take your breath away with the lake front views. The grounds, flowers and every other little detail shows how proud and hard the owners have worked to turn this place into a true gem. Our kids absolutely loved the pool and swimming, adults can order the most delicious crafted beverages garnished with fresh ingredients and small batch spirits. The Copper Fox lounge is 3 steps from the pool deck area. This year we expected covid to put a different experience on our trip but to our surprise they had the greatest staff ever and a lot of effort was put into ensuring our stay was safe and fun. Managers and staff quickly learned everyone’s names and for me that shows a next level of customer service I love. Although we are too large of a family to fit everyone in the really cool lake front air stream trailer or glamorous glamping tents, we loved the private lake front cabins with our own kitchen. We did order lunch at the patio kitchen twice and the food was delicious. Beach is awesome and water shallow and clear. We love Muskoka and hope to be back again next year. I imagine the fall time there is amazing with the trees! Thanks North Ridge staff, Mr. Clemmer and Mr. AubinMore

Spent 4 nights at North Ridge Inn August 8th and overall stay was ok. Room: Decent, bathroom tiny. Food: breakfast was ok except for French toast, not tasty at all. Dinner: steak with chimichurri gross. Sauce was sour and acid like. Ravioli with no sauce...was also gross Salmon with salad and couscous was bland and tasteless Menu and food could use an overhaul and improvement. Should have a kid’s menu with the amount of kids at resort. Also, closing the kitchen for a wedding tasting is not good but that is what we experienced here. This resort claims they are pet friendly but that only applies as long as your pet doesn’t bark. Was seated for dinner in the covered patio and my dog barked then I was asked to remove him. I thought that was rude and unnecessary. Don’t claim to be pet friendly when you clearly are not! Pool: website claims it is heated but it is not. The one thing I really enjoyed were the staff, overall they were pleasant and friendly and helpful except for 1. Will not be returning here since room was nothing special and food overall was underwhelming.More

I’m a long time cottager on Lake Bernard and was impressed with the marketing efforts and the busy parking lot as we would leisurely drive around the lake. I thought my husband’s birthday dinner would be perfect here on a Tues. night! Surprisingly, no one...returned my voice mail left the week prior for dining reservation nor my text a couple of days later when I hadn’t been contacted from the voice mail. That’s how their lengthy phone greeting suggests they be contacted. Not sure if short staffed or so busy or maybe lost the phone?!? Disappointed for sure but made alternate plans is a restaurant rich community. Thought they would like some honest feedback.More

AS with any wedding, especially of one of your siblings, you look for perfection. We were pleasantly surpirsed, by the dishes, and the use of flower petals and whole herbs. The suases were great, desserts were a nice blend of berries and custards or yogourts,watermellon,...etc, and nice baked goods.More

Beyond delicious, fresh gourmet food, they are environmentally conscious, which is super important to me. Plus desserts are to-die-for!!

Great ambience, great accommodating happy staff, set the tone for my day. Loved sitting in the lodge by the fire with my dog and husband. Loved sitting on the beach with an afternoon cocktail. Loved the evening outdoor fireplace as well as the fireplace in...the beautiful dining room. Food was great, homemade jam and a great picnic lunch for our hike. Great places to explore and loved being on the lake exploring by canoe.More

The menu changes each night and there is something for just about everyone - chicken, beef, fish and vegetarian offerings. Everything was superb.

the food is amazing. I particularly enjoyed their fresh trout and the chickpea curry. Their Sunday brunch is delicious as well. The service is great and friendly. It all takes place in a charming and relaxed dinning room with an amazing patio with great views.

My husband and I (in our early 30s) stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary this year. We found our stay relaxing and tranquil. The property has gone through a recent ownership change and from what we can see, they are really trying...to update the place. The grounds are average, little grass and more weeds. The beach is small and dirty. We spent most our our time laying out on the cement pier. The rooms have a fresh coat of paint but the bathrooms have leaky taps and discoloured tiles. The restaurant has very average food and over priced. Seemed like the only seasoning used is salt! If food was better perhaps it would be made our stay more enjoyable despite the condition of the facility. The bar has a nice cabin vibe. The staff is nice and accommodating. With that said, would we come back? Maybe in a few years once the property is upgraded but definitely wouldn't pay the current price for it.More
