Lovely setting, private seating areas, all food made on the premises -delicious too. cafe decorated with tasteful kiwiana. Staff friendly. Beautiful roses.

Took the suggestion to stop here from the Scenic Drives in NZ book. Had a great brunch and friendly service. There were some yummy homemade quiches, cakes and pies that made us wish we hadn't already made a packed lunch. Smell the roses in the garden if you arrive in the summer

Went to Mustard seed today. Ordered Long Black and Moccha long black tasted like day old diluted filter coffee Moccha bitter beyond belief. What an insult to gravity coffeebeans

We stopped in to the Mustard Seed after completing a walk along the river. We found the cabinet food limited although there was a significant cooked to order menu. They have an outdoor alfresco dining area amongst the Rose bushes but unfortunately they have locked it off for the off season. The coffee was good.
