We reluctantly got a takeaway from Corianders in Hanmer because the restaurants we wanted to go to had already been booked up (typical Friday night in Hanmer unfortunately we should have booked well in advance!) However we were VERY pleasantly surprised and impressed. The curry was beautiful, very fragrant and not overpowering, not too creamy (which is why we don't... More

These guys are brilliant. We're curry fans and went here on a very quiet night, always worrying about being the only people in a restaurant. Silly us. The food was stunning, and the service just delightful. Lovely local family who couldn't have done more for us and were fabulous with our kids. Our son had a headache and it was... More

The food here was so good we got takeaway two nights in a row. However, as we learned on night one, it's better to pre-order by phone (the menu is on the restaurant's website, which can be found via Google). We had to wait 45 minutes for our takeaway order. Which was fine, as the estimated wait was accurate so... More

Coming from the UK, I've often found it difficult to get a curry of decent standards that I'm used to. The Chicken Karahi was top drawer and I would spend a fortune if I was a local!

After a morning whale watching in Kaikoura and a couple of hours in the Hanmer Springs hot pools in the afternoon, what better way to end the day than with some good food. You are able to choose how hot you want your spicy dishes, you don't just get what the chef cooks up, the salsas are really nice and... More

We got there late for lunch, but the staff were very welcoming and did not put any pressure in us at all to get out. Food was superb, one of the best Indian meals that I've had for a while. Make sure you drop in if u r ever there in the area. Oh and the prices were very good,... More

This is a great little chain offering a ambient experience and good food. Efficient staff and good service. Food here is recommended, nicely spicy, good meat and fresh vegetables, this can be difficult in smaller regional towns, so well done. We were seated nearby the bathrooms and there is a problem with the door not self closing. I noticed the... More

We really found the food very good. But very expensive. 4 stars because was it really $140 worth it? Price left a sour taste as you walked out the door.

We have been to Corianders at least half a dozen times and love it, the food is fresh and delicious, the service great and the price right. Have been as a couple and family, one vegan included and no problem finding something tasty for dinner. Will be going back again and again.
