Has been troubled over the last few years by poor management and poor food. Hope the next lot can do better as it is the only restaurant in Tarbert with a view of the harbour.
The first thing that you will see when arriving to the hotel is a sign that tells you it is an award winning chef. There can't be unless we talk about an award from kindergarten. I had fish and chips and the fish was absolutely tasteless and was served with a tartar sauce from Heinz in small plastic wrappings. My... More
Cheesey potato boulangere as a vegetable side was completely fantastic. The portions are pretty huge and both our mains were great but the green beans tasted funny and I'm pretty sure the prawns were frozen though the langoustines were local. Service was excellent.

We didn't actually stay here as they didn't have room but I wanted to give them a mention to say thank you for their help. We found ourselves stranded in Tarbert after freak weather conditions left us more than 500 miles away from home and 30 miles away from our destination and without a place to stay for the night.... We had a lovely meal and great time. Brilliant sense of humour!!! If you visit Tarbert this place is a must.
On a busy festival weekend they squeezed us in early. we feasted on fresh, locally caught scallops and langoustine while gazing over the marina and people watching. the restaurant is glass fronted with stunning views and beautifully furnished. We felt really rather special and the perfect start to a wild night of great live music. Truely lovely and excellent value.
