Description: WINNER OF DUBLIN'S BEST GASTRO PUB 2013 - IRISH RESTAURANT AWARDSThe Purty Kitchen re-opened it's doors under new ownership in October of 2012. The Purty Kitchen is south Dublin’s newest gastropub serving a wide variety of fresh fish and pub classics with flair. Every dish has been created to show off seasonal food at it’s best and we have used Irish produce wherever possible. We have tried to put a signature twist on all of our food. Take our burger for example. They are made in house with dry aged Irish beef from Kettyle meats. The cheese comes from 5 mile town creamery and then it’s all served on a Waterford blaa with a basket of skin-on rooster chips. Most of what we serve in the Purty Kitchen is made in the Purty Kitchen. Where there are exceptions to that, we have sourced things from other great Irish food producers like Boulaban Farm in Tipperary for our salted caramel ice cream, or Arbutus Bakery in Cork for delicious sourdough rye bread.

In Dublin for a quick weekend trip with some friends from the Netherlands, one place we wanted to share was the Purty Kitchen. When we lived in Monkstown years ago the Purty Kitchen was a great place to have a meal. We arrived late Saturday afternoon and were warmly greeted by the barman and waitress. Originally planning to have a... More

A really disappointing meal after several very successful previous visits. Following a change in management the Purty Kitchen re-established itself as a gastropub worthy of the name. Despite making a booking well in advance a setup table was provided beside both the kitchen and the toilets. This could have been forgiven if the food served had been of the high... More

Had a really enjoyable meal with some business colleagues mid-week. Good menu choices (though the inclusion of some chicken in the mains would be nice) and well priced. The spelling could do with a run through a Spellcheck! The serving staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. For starter I had the goats cheese and beetroot which was delicious and... More

The Purty Kitchen has had a few ups and downs over the years. It has recently been tastefully renovated, maintaining the best features from the old days. Some new furniture has been added and the layout of tables has been improved. The Purty has introduced an excellent selection of craft beers which are worth exploring. The menu has been given... Went back a second time to enjoy their dinner and show night. Three courses and a show for 29.50 euro. I had a very nice soup followed by belly of pork. My wife, a coeliac, had the soup and the trout. Portions were smallish but food was quality. I rang ahead to warn of a coeliac and she was expected.... More

Have been to the new Purty Kitchen 3 times now and it has been fab each time. They truly have a great chef at the moment. The fish specials are excellent. Last night I had the ray - chunky and delicious. Previously had the trout with their gorgeous potato chips. Staff are lovely. Will be back again and again ...

Had late lunch on a Saturday afternoon with my partner after the cinema in Dun Laoghaire (5-10 min easy walk). Comfortable interior, food was good and service attentive. It wasn't overly busy in the late afternoon which suited us with a mixture of families, couples and friends. The low ceilings would probably make for noisy evenings if the place is... More

Like the previous reviewer I have lived close to the Purty Kitchen for many years and it was only recently that a relative was staying with us that we decided to give it a try and we were amazed.
