Decided on going to Nico's after seeing them on Diners, Drive-inn's and dives. The place is fairly large and has a bar in the center. They don't have wait service, you order your food at the registers and get a puck that lights up when it's ready. You can order food if you sit at the bar.
Their menu has...

We went here because we saw it on Diner's, Drive-ins and Dives. It was not a diner, drive-in or dive but it was a great place for lunch. The only complaint I had (if you can call it a complaint) is that they gave us so much food, we couldn't eat it all and we had to get on a...

Went to Nico's at Pier 38 again. The first time I went there a couple years ago, I ordered the baby back ribs and they were wonderful. So I went back there again for some more of the same. Unfortunately, I did not have the same luck. The ribs came out very cold and very hard. Not edible. As were...

We really wanted fresh fish on our last night in Oahu and decided to check out Nico's. While situated on the pier, and maybe not the best area of town; the restaurant was nice and had a great feel to it. We all had the fish and chips which seemed to be perfect portions sizes for us adults. While they...

We all know that dining in Hawaii, especially when it comes to eating fresh fish, can be quite pricy. Which is why we were very pleasantly surprised at finding this little gem. Nothing fancy about this somewhat out-of-the way place, and it has kind of a local bar-n-grill appeal to it. Being it was a perfect evening, temperature-wise, we sat...

We actually had to plan to get here for a 2 PM Sat. lunch. The traffic is nuts! The fish is fantastic! Two of us had the swordfish in panko crumbs. One had the salad (very fresh) with swordfish fish sticks. We all thoroughly enjoyed the fun atmosphere. We'll be back!
We both had seafood. We were able to get a table outside. I got the fish and chips. It was rockfish and it was very good. The other person got tuna, they said it was very good. Lots of locals that come there, busy location. You can eat inside or outside. It seemed that outside was cooler than inside.
This place is no joke. Fish is caught the same day and specials change daily. I had the special sandwhich of the day which was a home made local double fish patty. It was delicious. My wife isn't much of a fish person so she had the orange chicken and was also impressed. For lunch it is an order at...

If you're going to make one last stop in Hawaii, make it Nico's. My sister brought me here on my last day on Oahu (*tear) since it was on the way to the airport.
She got the calamari salad, which was good. But it doesn't even compare to the seared Furikake Ahi lunch plate (medium rare of course). It comes...
