We ate downstairs in the bar. Nice bar with a number of tables too. Our server, Eric, a very tall young man was excellent. It was amazing how he was able to take care of everyone in a timely manner . . . . . and there were two bartenders behind the bar that seemed to be fast and cheerful... More

My wife and I were drawn to Benjamin's as we walked by it a little before 2 p.m. on a Monday, first because it was packed (we got the only space remaining) and second because they had a special on for $1 oysters on the half shell. People kept coming in after we arrived until we left an hour or... More

We ate upstairs, and were seated in an enclosed porch. It was roomy, and was a little more quiet than the main room. We had baked scallops and a seafood casserole. The scallop portion was a little small, but good. It was 5 medium sized scallops, with 3 asparagus stalks. We shared a creme brulee for dessert. It too was... More

Nice location, nice fresh steamed lobster for a good price. $18 for a pound and 1/4. We also had some appetizers, but we didn't particularly like them. The crab cakes had a funny taste and the consistency was also very unusual, the calamari steak also was average, and the clam chowder was ok. Overall I would go back just for... More

This little restaurant is worth every penny, good seafood, good portions, good service. We were very happy it really meet our expectations. I visited 2 times and both times I was satisfied with the food.

Benjamin's has a very nice breakfast menu with a full bar open at 8 a.m. There are also raw bar items available if you are so inclined to get an early start on some oysters.

Yeah, I think I annoyed my parents every couple hours about going back to Benjamin's for oysters. We went here our first night for dinner and my balsamic flavored scallops were amazing! In addition to that, they have a happy hour raw bar so I was in heaven! We ended up going to this joint 3 times over a 48-hour... More

I just dined at Benjamin's this past weekend after visiting family up in Newport. We went up to the dining room on the second floor, and during our wait, ventured up to the top floor of the "Crow's nest"- a very nice small bar at the top of the restaurant. The bartender was very attentive, and the heaters were on,... More

We've been to Benjamin's only once. The patrons seemed to be mostly college kids and they were loud. The service was OK, no special scenery and the two items we ordered from the menu were not delicious. I remember that the other items on the menu did not sound inviting either. We figured it's better pay a few more bucks... More

This is a great spot for $1 oysters and shrimp on Tuesday nights. I've also been here for breakfast and lunch and have never been disappointed.
