We enjoyed the live music of a gentleman playing native flute and Spanish guitar. He was very good, and not too loud to enjoy our meal. The food and drink was excellent, and prices very reasonable. A very short walk from Las Palomas.

Great environment (there was man who played the flute and guitar during our time), excellent service (friendly waiters), and delicious food. I was particularly fond of the sangria. It was a real Santa Fe experience.
From the food to the interior design to the wait staff and management, this place screams authenticity. Among many dining options in Santa Fe, this place deserves to be patronized. Our large dining party, with a wheelchair-bound person, was accommodated very well despite the tricky and tight doorways; our party was led out of the back entrance by the kitchen...

We were the only diners on this very slow night off season. Our waitress was pleasant and cheerful, not rushing us at all though they closed soon as we finished! Four stars because the price was right for the quality of the food and experience.
We were warmly greeted at the door and shown to a table near the musician. The music was quiet acoustic guitar and flute offering a nice atmosphere. We enjoyed some seriously good new Mexico cuisine featuring family recipes handed down through the generations. The dining room is located in the old family dwelling offering a wonderful historic glimpse into the...

Casa Chimayo offer an authentic southwestern dinning experience. Ordered a burrito with rice... meal was cooked to order and very good. Staff was very friendly and conversational. Meal was under $20 and restaurant is well known locally. Enjoyable meal and southwestern ambience.
We stumbled onto this restaurant when some others were closed for the day. Even though it was a Wednesday night in the off season, the place was quite busy. Everybody on the staff was exceptionally friendly and pleasant, and even though it was busy, we never lacked for attention.
We ate only a couple of appetizers, but they were served...

We were looking for a Mexican food restaurant that was not as pretentious as most that were located on or near the Plaza. Boy did we find it! The margaritas were excellent, the guacamole was addictive and the entrees top notch. It's located off the beaten path of the Plaza, but is only a few blocks West so its an...

If you are looking for an great, small New Mexican restaurant with no pretentiousness, try the Casa Chimayo. The food was very well prepared (both the red and green chile were incredible) and the service was delightful. I had some of the best chiles rellenos ever. You know how you get a side of rice and beans with most dinners...
