Great steaks and friendly service. Prices were also good. For the price we paid, I couldn't believe the size of the steak my husband ordered. The restaurant is also family friendly with a kids menue.

Food was average, nothing special. Their homemade bread was great. Service was good. Small gift shop.
This is an excellent choice for dinner (didn't try breakfast or lunch) in the Keystone area. On our first night, we tried their elk medallions and ostrich. They were both good, but we found the sauces too sweet and overpowering (an apple brandy sauce on the elk and a cherry sauce on the ostrich) but others might like them. We...

The dining room is like a log cabin lodge and it is very pleasant. There are lots of choices on the menu and the service is fine. The artichoke dip is very good, served with a variety of crackers. I had a chicken and vegetable pasta entrée and thoroughly enjoyed it. The sauce was a light lemon pepper olive oil...

Not many great options in this area, so the Powder House provided a nice dinner before we returned to Mt. Rushmore for the evening program. Wasn't exceptional, but certainly adequate.
Nothing fancy at all but the food was good, the service quick and easy parking. The location is about 1 mile before you get into the main area of Keystone on the main highway. It is much easier to dine at Powder House than to fight the crowds in the main, downtown area.
Good food and very good service. They have an extensive wine collection for this area. Not cheap but not overly expensive and nice place and good people
My wife and I had dinner at the Powder House and loved the service, menu selection and of course the meal itself. The service was quick, attentive and courteous. Pricing on the menu was reasonable. The restaurant was a log structure with similar setting inside. The chef came to our table to ensure the meal met with our liking.

Pros: nice decor, helpful staff, tasty meat.
Cons: too much sauces, pricey.
We had the buffalo meat loaf and the game sampler. The meat loaf was delicious but it comes with tons of ketchup sauce on top (?!). The game sampler comes with some small pieces of elk sausages and a tinny buffalo rib. By far the buffalo rib is...

When we walked in to the Powder House Lodge we were a little nervous about the supper-club atmosphere. We were looking for a nice dining experience. When we saw the menu selections we relaxed a bit. When we tasted our food we were sold. Our party of four ordered the crab cakes, the Seafood Renzo, Prime Rib, Bacon-wrapped Filet and...
