I normally don't like Thai food but it was very good. It was a aice and quite restaurant for everyone to enjoy.
We went to Thai Rice on the basis of the generally good reviews of the restaurant in Trip Advisor. The reviews were accurate. Thai Rice serves excellent Thai food at reasonable prices. We had their special of the day - the crispy fried Flounder. This is a classic Thai dish and tastes just great when done right - which is... More
We got off I-70 looking for lunch and decided to try Thai Rice. We had never had Thai before but we're always game to try something new. Are we ever glad we did! We had 2 different soups, pad thai, hot and wow, fried banana, and sweet sticky rice with thai custard. It was all awesome! We can't wait to... More
First time, all was great...place was quiet. Food was fresh and fast and tasted like authentic Thai. Second go-around...same day of the week and time...still quiet. Food took forever and just wasn't as fresh, and tasted more like an Americanized version of the same dishes. Something was amiss and it is just hard to put my finger on it. I... More
Thai Rice is on the Golden Mile in a little strip mall that usually has plenty of parking. The restaurant usually has only a few tables occupied when I go in, so it's a well-kept secret. The decor and layout is typical of an Asian restaurant: two rows of booths and a few round tables for larger parties, a few... More
The wife in this Husband Wife Team is the cook, and the daughter is one of the waitresses. Good food, cooked well, and spiced to Thai perfection. Try the Mango sticky rice - or Mango Chicken when it is on Special. Restaurant is a little dark; however one does not eat the atmosphere; and the food excels!
I can only summarize my experiences in this restaurant, in one word: Horrible. If you like Thai food you are bound to be disappointed. The food is at best mediocre, sometimes poor in quality. And from thereon it's downhill. Dreary, depressing atmosphere. Service is abhorrent. Most employees don't communicate very well, perhaps it's a language barrier. I've tried it a... More
My wife and I love this place - the food is excellent, prepared by Thai people, with wide variety of choices. It's also quite and peaceful place, no plate-banging and the service is great. I have brought business associates here for a wonderful Thai lunch. I especially like the Pad Thai, the spicey curry, and the knock-out desserts! Very consistently... More
Thai Rice took over an old Chinese place, but they failed to do any renovations whatsoever. What you end up having is a very dreary atmosphere. This is forgivable if the food is great, but after multiple experiences, I have determined that the food is merely acceptable. Prices wouldn't appear high, but the portions are often so stingy, that the... More
We were impressed with the quality of food. I've been to Thai restaurants with more atmosphere, but the food here is some of the best Thai we have tasted. Very fresh ingredients and good portions.
