A weekend in Madison visiting our daughter. Staying at a hotel on the square. Out of many restaurants, chose to eat here as my daughter studied in Ireland. Started out poorly, as they did not have cider on tap. The Guiness was improperly pored. It was pored all in one tap, verses two taps and allowing it to settle. The... More

You will never find the true Irish pub anywhere outside of Ireland. But this may just be as close as you can get. Dark enough to seem aged, bright enough to be welcoming. Live traditional Irish music ("trad") and a great pint of Guiness. A couple of snugs and a large dining room off the right sized bar. A few... More

This is a nice, fun pub with some good grub and specials. Visit, have a pull from the draft, sit back and enjoy the company of friends or strangers.

If you are looking for a good cider rather than just drinking beer, and want casual, fun and a place for reasonably good food that is just off State Street, you are all set. This is THE place to go and a real favorite of college students.

I went to Brocach a lot during my undergraduate studies in part to having studied abroad in Northern Ireland. It was a place I knew had the Irish Ciders that I love so much. They also have some fun cocktails too. My favorite dishes are the fish & chips and the bangers & mash! I love it so much I... More

I LOVE coming to Brocach. It's friendly and fun! The authentic music they find to play is wonderful. Almost as great at their Stoli Doli's...seriously, try one up! Almost a tragedy when they run out of Stoli Doli.

My husband and I stopped in this restaurant on a whim last night. We've been to the UK and eaten in pubs there and while you'd never mistake this place for a traditional UK pub (too well lit, clean and new), you'd be remiss if you didn't give this place a try. I had the fish and chips and my... More

This restaurant serves quite delicious Irish based foods. I can't really compare it to real Irish cuisine, but everything I have had there has been very yummy. I would recommend the shepherds pie, the serving size is huge, you'll have enough for lunch the next day!

We love this place. We visited for the first time in December and came back in February. Both times we enjoyed the atmosphere, the great service, and the delicious food. My husband loved the bangers and mash and had it both times. I had the salmon special the first time and the fish fry (fried haddock) the second time. Both... More

The Irish Stew, made with beef and lamb meat is delicious! Definitely reminiscent of a traditional pub meal on the emerald isle. this place is filled with Irish charm and flair, and many of the staff (at least on my visit) seem to speak with an Irish accent as well. Well worth a visit - just across the street from... More
