This is a quaint, comfortable, hip place in an interesting neighborhood. From the worn wooden floors and bar to the old tin ceiling and funky old string instruments on the wall this place exudes a cool vibe. When we were there on a Sunday for lunch they had live music as well. The food is the reason to go though.... More

The ambience at the Weary Travelor is cozy and inviting, despite being one of the more popular spots in the area. It's a great place to have an intimate supper with your date or another couple. Prices are reasonable. Our personal favorites are the Bad Breath burger and the Mediterranean Salad. Deliciousness!

Great neighborhood pub! Lots of choices on the menu; my husband chose the Hungarian Goulash and said it was pretty close to what his grandma used to make! I had their hangar steak special (our server had me at 'garlic mashed potatoes') and everything on the plate was delicious. Our 2-year-old grandson can't eat dairy but we had no problem... More

Five of us went for lunch one Sunday. We ordered the Bloody Marys, which we didn't really care for, and we are normally big fans of any Bloody Mary. There seemed to be too much horseradish or too much clamato. They had an off taste. I got the tuna sandwich. The tuna was slice very, very thin. Due to this,... More

During a recent visit to Madison, my husband and I ate here twice because the food is so good! I had the Sweet Corn, Quinoa & Black Bean Salad the first night. Such a unique combination of flavors and textures that work very well together. My husband had the Reuben which is fantastic even if you don't like sauerkraut. The... More

My husband and I love visiting the Weary. It has fabulous pub food, almost entirely locally sourced, the drinks are good, and so is the staff. My personal favorite is the West of the Andes sandwich. Definitely worth a stop if you are in town!

We found a write up about the Weary Traveler on a Chicago publication. We were traveling across country and we were truly weary travelers. Our meal was wonderful. I had the Carne Asada (I'm not sure of the spelling). It was thin sliced marinated steak covered with tomatoes, onions, and avocado, with a side of spring mix lettuce. The wait... More

After 8 hours of driving, our desk clerk recommended the Weary Traveler Freehouse. For a Monday evening, the place rocked!! Funky, fun place with excellent food and service. Acceptable wine list, ample beer selections, and the service was great. Other reviews recommend an early arrival on weekends to avoid long lines. The ambiance is fun with a selection of games... A great place for a reasonably-priced meal, or just a drink. Stays open late so a good option also if other places are closed down. The place feels very authentic and friendly. Good selection of single-malt scotches too.

The menu selections were all very good. Loved the choice of vegan items. Delicious food and good variety of beers on tap.
