The food is what I'd expect for the price. The place in general doesn't have a very welcoming appearance or attitude. Service was slow but not a big deal on vacation.
Great atmosphere and great service. I was very impressed in the sign that they have by the bar/cash register. Very Patriotic. I would say that my food was average.
The title says it all, hamburger and onion rings, soupy thin chili. Very slow service on an October Saturday in Grand Marais is pretty lame so I can only imagine what it would be like in July. Kind of a tourist/vacation bar for families, I would recommend several other options for adults wanting a real dinner in Grand Marais.
My wife and I just had to come back this year and get the pizza. We had it last year and loved it, and it didn't disappoint this year. We ordered the Sister's House Special. WOW, it was the perfect thin crust pizza. The toppings were fresh and flavorful. The crust was light and crispy. We sat at the bar... More
My family stopped here for lunch while vacationing. Among us we had the poutine, a chile dog, split pea soup, chile, a hambuger and a couple of sandwiches, all of which were excellent. The prices were reasonable and the portions large. Would for sure stop and eat again next time we are in the area. Make sure you visit the... More
I saw a survey in the local paper that rated My Sister's Place "Best Burger". I'm sorry, but if this is the best burger nobody who did this rating every had a good burger in their life!! Overcooked, no char or grill marks... steamed??? I don't know. I appreciated the fact they made their own thousand island dressing for my... More
Good thing we got there early, place really filled up fast! Came highly recommended by couple we were traveling with. Fellow diner claimed he drives several miles for one of their burgers. I had bacon cheeseburger -- very good, but don't think I'd drive more than five miles for one. Good service, friendly waitstaff. Something for everyone.
We perhaps ordered the wrong thing. We had the Mexican salad. It was pretty bland and had only a few vegetables and we had to look for the onion. The chips on it were the cheap variety. We have had much better salads. The sweet potato fries were very good if you like the shoe string type. Service was average.
