Get here when it opens to score a table - or be prepared to wait (luckily the wait has gotten much better since they opened up a wine bar around the corner, but if that's not your cup of tea, there are many other bars in the neighborhood to wait at while you wait for a table). The pasta dishes... More

We went back for our second visit to Al Di La after a period of about three years and it was like visiting an old friend. And the quality the food was just as excellent, if not better, than we had experienced before. We shared the whipped Baccala and also a trio of seafood tapas which it seemed that everyone... More

This place is always great and croweded. It is really worth going out of your way to come here. Some of the Italian dishes are unique.

This review is for the wine bar, not the restaurant. I got this recommendation from a local -- and he was right. Unique and seasonal menu with lots of options for people who like food. The menu online doesn't necessarily match what they are serving, and you'll want to hear the specials when you get there. Low-key but attentive service,... More

how in a neighborhood filled with restaurants [park slope, brooklyn] and known for its population of foodies could this place rank as one of the best? went there for brunch because we hate lines and they take no reservations. we got there 20 minutes before the 11 a.m. opening. no line. that was great. got a table. that was great.... NYC native and this is my favorite restaurant, though not necessarily what I would consider the best in the city. I had to take one star off because very occasionally (VERY) they seem to have an off night, where one course will not be quite up to their usual standard. Don't let this deter you. The odds of you having... More

Been wanting to come here for a long time and finally got the chance to try it out. Came here around 6PM on a Sunday...the place was already packed and luckly we got the last table available. Since they do not take reservation, I would suggest come early, so you dont have to end up waiting 1-2 hours for the... More

Whenever I visit my daughter in Brooklyn, Trattoria Al Di La in Park Slope is a favorite dinner destination. With a warm, welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant envelopes customers in an animated Italian dining experience. Not sure of a wine? The wait staff poured me a few tastes of Italian reds to help me choose. While the daily specials were tempting,... More

Most of the dishes were good, but the crust of my dessert was burnt. The cod appetizer needed more than 3 little pieces of good polenta. The Swiss chard gnocchi were astonishingly good- light as clouds! Melted in my mouth! The service was excellent. It has always had exceptional food in the past- maybe this was an off night?

Line at 6pm (abt an hour wait) so we ate downstairs at the bar with no wait. Apparently there are more options downstairs. The pork was incredible. The black ink pasta with crab was good. The oxy tail appetizer was pretty good as well. Definitely worth the cost.
