Food just average. Fries were good. Service was friendly but slow. The only thing I really liked were the cookies. It comes with big chunky melt in your mouth chocolate chips.
Came here for breakfast. The place was super crowded. Didn't take long to get a table but that's because there was only two of us. When seated, we placed our drink orders. I ordered an oj and my fiancé ordered coffee. Took a second for both to come and when it didn't we didn't have any utensils to stir the... More
The first time my husband and I went we had lunch. I ordered stromboli, but what I got was a bread pie thing with manwich inside. I HATE manwich! I couldn't eat it. There was no cheese either. Husband got a burger, nothing spectacular, very average. The second time we went we had breakfast. I ordered chicken fried steak but... More
We had looked forward to eating here due to several recommendations. I can't say anything bad about the place, it was clean and the service was very attentive. It did take a while to get our food and it was not as hot as we would have preferred. I would say I was more disappointed with the place, but I... More
I was told this was the best breakfast in town, but the service was ridiculously slow, and my chicken fried steak was so fatty that I couldn't eat most of it. The rest of the food was fine, but nothing special. The next time we were in town we went to the Bakery and liked it a lot better.
The food (Breakfest) is everything that Guy says it is...Good Employees and customers
We headed to the Cookie Jar for lunch after driving into Fairbanks from the Denali/Healy area. We were happy to see the menu offered a little something for everyone. Salads, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, etc. I was a little disappointed that everything with halibut on the menu was fried (a grilled/blackened halibut option sounded so good at the time), I had... More
Fluffy eggs, massive slices of toast, and an excellent value. We don't go anywhere else for breakfasts. You're talking denny's-like prices and great food. The lunch and dinner stuff is good too. But 90% of our meals here are breakfasts....you can't go wrong.
I'm posting this review almost a year since we ate there, and I honestly don't remember what I had - I think it was the Halibut wrap - but I remember it was really delicious, it was really big (most places in Alaska are going to serve you more than you can eat), the waitress was nice enough, we sat... The food was good but the portions were small - the cookies on the other hand were delicious. Very busy restaurant and a bit more expensive than other restaurant in the area. We had lunch there.
