Description: A farm to table American restaurant with a focus on seafood. Our menus change daily to reflect the best of what the markets have to offer and allows us to feature the work of many local artisans, growers and fishermen. A three course seafood tasting menu is always available. Jeremy and Lisa Sewall created Lineage Restaurant"s concept. We are a married couple with extensive culinary experience and deep New England roots. Located in the heart of Coolidge Corner, Brookline, Massachusetts, the name "Lineage" is based on Jeremy's own. In 1705, when this "Muddy River" hamlet of Boston became incorporated, Samuel Sewall, son of Judge Sewall of Salem Witch Trials fame, lent the community his services as the first Town Clerk and, it is thought, the name of his family's "Brooklin" lands, which lay between the Charles and Muddy Rivers.

Reserve a table when you make your flight reservations for Boston! This dining experience is amazing. Everything is Fresh, only seasonal food on the menu, and some locally grown. we shared fried green tomatoes ( above the Mason-Dixon line!),spicy lobster tacos( I'm from texas so bring on the heat!) and island creek oysters - My lips are still watering for... Our party of 4 had a terrific meal. The lobster tacos were all they're cracked up to be. Wouldn't have tried them if not for all the raves here, and we weren't disappointed. We each had a different seafood entree, and each one was uniquely prepared, nicely presented, and most importantly, delicious. I would return in a heartbeat.

We've always enjoyed our visits to the bigger and more boisterous Eastern Standard and Island Creek Oyster Bar. Jeremy Sewall's Lineage turned out to be the odd man - or restaurant - out. While it's a smaller, more intimate restaurant, the place was very busy. As a result, our server seemed rushed. The pacing of the meal was not great,... More

This was my second visit&had very high expectations based on my first visit but I was disappointed w/ everything except the dessert...and how can one go wrong w/ dessert?? ;-) I can't remember exactly what I ordered but it's just as well as I believe the menu changes here daily. I had a shrimp appetizer which didn't 'get-up on its... More

On our overnight stay in Brookline, we decided to have dinner at Lineage based on the reviews, and we were not disappointed. In fact, everything was delicious. We started off sharing lobster tacos with mango salsa and a field greens salad, both of which were very tasty. I then had grilled Scottish salmon with green lentils, fennel, and kumquats which... With a party of 10, our plates came out of the kitchen at varying times over an hour. Frustrating not to eat all together and keep reminding staff of missing items, but I would go back. Food was great and wine even better. Interesting local cuisine.

One of the better restaurants in Brookline. Great fish and seafood and very good service. The white fish that I ordered was very moist and still very flavorful, it was cooked to perfection.

Am a business traveler staying in the Brookline area frequently. Lineage has turned into one of my favorite places to dine. It is fine dining. I have eaten there about 7-8 different occasions and I have not been disappointed once, in fact it is quite the opposite. I have been delighted. The food is consistently good, inventive and top notch.... More
