This was the perfect place to eat when staying at the Inn. Similar to the rest of the Inn, it was incredibly classy and delicious. I was a huge fan.

We had a large company at the restaurant and to a man and woman we loved the place. One of our party had the Chincoteague oysters and remarked "it smells like Christmas" as she passed the dish around the table and I will be damned! It really did smell like Christmas! And this is important to note, the smell of...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review concerning your dining experience here at The Inn. We all were intrigued by your description of the oysters. The Chincoteague salts oysters are delicious, with the ginger lychee sorbet and local hot house cucumber fraiche, but we didn't realize that they smelled like "Christmas"! Please come back and dine with...

We had a great mother's day meal here for the family! Service and food was fantastic! We took all the "Mothers" there and had a party of 15 in all. It is close to Gettysburg Campground where we stayed at that weekend. In all a totaly nice Mother;s Day weekend!
Thank you for choosing The Inn to celebrate Mother's Day. We love to host mothers and their families on this very special day. Thanks, also, for recognizing our staff who always strives to make each guests' experience a memorable one. Hope to see all fifteen of you next year!

We arrived for lunch around 1 PM on a Friday and were the only ones in the room (a few were at the solarium). Service at first was fine but deteriorated. Young lady at entrance looked bored and was not helpful. Rest room had no soap and no towels and I reported it only to return 10 minutes later in...

Let's start with the unclear menu. My husband ordered the pecan chicken salad which states grilled chicken, but chicken salad with mayo with a tiny bed of salad is what was served. I ordered the lobster salad sandwich. The lobster salad was delicious, but the bread was unedible. It was grilled perhaps trying to cover up the staleness. The staff...

We ate at the Herr Ridge restaurant over Memorial Day weekend. The food was very good, the portions were very small, and the bill was pretty big. I had the prime rib, which was actually two small pieces wrapped in bacon -- not a slice of prime rib. My husband had the duck, which was three small pieces. Again, the...

My daughter and I had dinner here at the end of April. We were surprised at how packed Gettysburg was and we tried to make a reservation at one of the restaurants in town that we usually dine at and were told no reservations until 8:30, which is a little late for us. We had seen the Inn at Herr...

This gorgeous Inn is about 1.5 miles west of the Square, on Route 30. The furnishings and décor are lovely, and the staff (from hostess to chef) are extremely friendly. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful, and the food was delicious (menu is a bit limited, but has enough choices to feed anybody). Wine list is extensive, and has a...

My son was graduating from college and we were searching high and low for a restaurant to have a celebratory meal with 7 people. Other local restaurants declined our request for a reservation, as their seating wouldn't allow for 7. We had made this reservation abt a month earlier - Sue (the restaurant manager) called to let us know that...

I was skeptical based on other reviews but the dinner was amazing. I had the Kobe beef and it was cooked to perfection. The only thing I found expensive was the wine list. Everything else seemed to be inline with fine dining. The service was great. People have commented that the service was too slow but I found it to...
