the atmosphere and staff are colonial inspired. Food is modern fair with some colonial twists.my soon lived the bread, as it was so soft. Enjoyed the entire experience. I would definitely go again.

The food served is "period" food. It was delicious and unique. The building is full of character and was part of the underground railroad. There is a country curious store inside in addition to the small attic room used as part of the underground railroad. The restaurant and tavern are begging to be explored!
If you are looking for a restaurant with atmosphere this is it. It is in like a basement, lit with candles. You may need night vision to read the menu. Great food, fun time, very little seating, so go early or at an off eating time.
Kids aren't allowed in the main dining room! The authentic tavern was good for lunch, and the soup or salad with half a sandwich was a great deal. Beware the tour bus outside. There is a gift shop attached.
We were hungry after a most interesting private tour of Gettysburg, and we were recommended by a ranger to dine here. Expected good, but considering the service it was an excellent recommend. Had the French onion soup, spit roasted chicken crab cake and filet mignon, apple pie alamode.. Great food and service! Thank you!
There are 2 restaurants, the tavern and the main. They also have larger rooms so don't be dissuaded if you see a tour bus, they have their own rooms and price fix menus. We ate in the main dining room. We were served promptly, the waitress was engaging and we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and our meal.
Great restaurant. The food was excellent. We recommend the French Onion Soup...lots of gooey cheese...They have an excellent salad with all kinds of veggies not just lettuce and the Honey Mustard Dressing was awesome, wish they sold it.
Dobbin House Tavern succeeds in providing both an enjoyable theme and delicious dining. The setting and ambiance makes it easy to imagine you are traveling back in time. And we were delighted that the food matched the setting in excellence. We ate upstairs in the fine-dining area. Everyone in our small group enjoyed their meals. The crab cakes and hunter's...

We stopped here for dinner while touring Gettysburg. Got there at 4:40 PM and went into the gift shop to inquire about dinner. A real nice lady told us all about the dining options and even made us a reservation for 5:00PM in the main dining room. Service and food was excellent. We had Ruth for a waitress and she...

The building was built in 1776 and is the oldest building in Gettysburg. It was on the underground railroad, and they have a small museum upstairs. There are actually two restaurants in this place - an informal tavern downstairs and a more formal dining room upstairs. The dining room is divided into many different rooms of the house - we...
