Great place to take that lucky one you've been chasing after. Guaranteed (not liable for any dumb moves on your part) to motivate a great night kiss.
My wife and I went to see David Ryan Harris at Tin Angel and had dinner at Serrano before the show. Our server, Michael, was very friendly and accommodating. We started off with the wonton appetizers which were amazing. With a different spin on the typical wonton, the dish is served with small wonton "cups." The appetizer comes with three... More
Serrano is the restaurant affiliated with the "Tin Angel", a folk music club on 2nd street in Old City Philadelphia. I've been eating here for over 10 years. It's a funky mix of dark wood and Moroccan in spired tapestries provide a relaxed, eclectic environment. The food is always excellent, and the new chef has updated the menu and comes... More
Decided to go here for our evening meal as the menu looked good and the wine as (un)reasonably priced as anywhere else in the area. The restaurant is long and narrow with about 4 tables at the front near the window and perhaps another 10 at the back beyond the bar. We were seated in the front area at a... More
Stopped in here on a whim for a quick drink. The bartender Michael was very friendly. He made a great martini and the happy hour prices were more than fair. We didn't stay for dinner, but the food smelled delicious. We would most likely return.
We loved the food, atmosphere, wine and the lovely real fireplace. The area was very safe to walk late at night. The energy at the restaurant was very high and exciting. Although it is a little bit narrow in the front. But we didn't mind at all.
Went to Serranos last Saturday evening to get a reserved table at the restaurant's sister establishment - The Tin Angel - upstairs which features excellent live music. Our two grandchildren - 10 and 8 - are picky eaters so we called in advance to see what could be worked out. The chef - Gena Rodriguez - spoke to us and... More
my husband and I often go to Serrano before theater, as well as eating there before going upstairs to listen to the music at Tin Angel. Never again... They gleefully stated they have a new chef. Oh my.. the food is either all meat, fried, heavy cheese,, far cry from the amazing different ethnic dishes they have always served. The... More
Never been disappointed. Always top-notch, inspired food at reasonable prices, pleasant and helpful waitstaff, and laid-back unpretentious atmosphere. After dinner head upstairs to the Tin Angel cabaret where you will always find great eclectic music. A hidden Philly gem.
This is the second time we have had the pleasure of visiting Serrano/Tin Angel, just as wonderful the second time around. Befor I go into detail this place is so unique, offering dinner on the lower floor, Serrano, and the upper floor, The Tin Angel, is an intmate space where musical artists from all genres, come to entertain thier audience....
