This restaurant is a gem in the theatre district Reservation was made on the web easily. Small and intimate this can mean a little noisy but that added to the Italian experience. Service was attentive and un rushed Food well try for yourselves but typical Italian fare stunningly prepared and presented. Viva Italia Would dine here again anytime

We discovered Basso56 last year - checked out the tripadvisor reviews before we visited. Just been back to NYC and booked again as we loved this restaurant last year ....and we were not disappointed. Staff are very friendly and attentive...and very knowledgeable. Quiet simply.....It is a fantastic Itialian restaurant.

My husband particularly liked his Veal Scaloppine. I thought the sauce on my pasta with muchrooms and peas wasn't as good as it could have been. The staff was very gracious, getting us a nice table and being very attentive.
