WE have had quite some star restaurants in New Tork in the meantime. We can compare them now with Daniel and it really was quite an experience for us.The menu contains interesting specialities and unexpected ingredients (at least for American restaurants). The service was friendly and efficient without an arrogant atitude. This could be a star restaurant in Europe. The restaurants is quite... More

The whole experience is good. Food in general is above avarage but I really don't think it should be a 3 Michelin star. Some things (like desserts) were absolutely delicious, the service is impecable, nevertheless there were some "almost unforgivable" mistakes concerning food, something I did not expect in such a high priced restaurant.

We had some (excellent) previous experiences in 2 or 3 stars restaurants in Europe and USA, and all of them were much better than our dinner at Daniel The food and service are not actually bad, but does not justify its presence in the lists of the top restaurants in NY. In short, an average is a restaurant with a... More

I first had dinner at Daniel (Now Cafe Boulud) over 16 years ago The Braised Short Ribs a meal never to forget the true talent Daniel and his staff possesses is that they make ordinary food into magnificent meals. I have been privileged to have had over the year so many meals there and at the Main Restaurant off of... More

We ate at 6.30pm on a Monday, and the place was full. The service was good - although they did seem to ignore my husband's request for a coke with the aperitifs! We went for the tasting menu - which was good, but to be honest 3 weeks later and I cannot remember any of the courses. We have been fortunate... More

We went here for a special meal, and this is exactly what the place is for. We're lucky to have dined at many great restaurants, and whilst we knew this was going to be an expensive treat, it was worth it. Staff were so nice, and not at all snooty, they really made you relax. Pre diner cocktails were sublime... More

We went at 5:30 to accomodate and 8 pm show. It was so lovely and quiet and we took advantage of the early dinner with wine pairings. The staff is wonderful and elegant without being snobby or stuffy. The food, naturally, was fabulous. It was a very special place

Simply will not go to NYC without stopping at Daniel for dinner. Every experience better than the last. Food incredible and super creative. Best dining experience in NYC hands down.

Being a 3 Michelin star restaurant, we were quite disappointed by the experience. The atmosphere was indeed a little too stiff and even though it stipulated that gentlemen should have a jacket for dinner service, it was a bit much for them to request that I put my jacket back on when i took it off during our meal as...
