In Chelsea market (which is an experience by itself...many cute shops and bakeries in an industrial look (former Oreo manufacturer)) you will find Lobster Place. We had brunch here with 2 persons for only $ 35. We had some really great sushi (very fresh!) and seafood/noodle salad. Our neighbours had a freshly cooked lobster which also looked amazing. Go there... More

The fish shop offers a fantastic take-away service where you can buy from shellfish to sushi and, obviously, their steamed lobster. Everything so fresh and delicious. A few desks are available to eat directly there. OK, it hasn't all the comforts of a restaurant (and this is not its target) but, in my opinion, also considering the fantastic context of... More

I was delighted when The Lobster Place re-opened after an extensive interior renovation. The presentation of the fresh seafood is first class. This place feels and looks like fresh fish and seafood heaven. And now you can order at the raw bar and consume all the shucked oysters and clams you can handle. Everything is done right before your eyes... More

The lobster roll was just okay, it was tasty but not spectacular. For the same / similar price better to go to Red Hook Lobster and have the Connecticut roll. Now that is fantastic. We had toro at $8 a piece, about half of what you might pay at Nobu. But it would have been nice to be able to... More

Visiting Chelsea Market is an experience. The Lobster Place is a good stop. You can get whole lobsters or the lobster roll. The menu is great. We had the lobster roll and it was as good as you get in Maine. I'd love to stop again.

The lobster roll looked good but it was tough and had no flavor (old or overcooked). The cost ~$17.00...save your money. I had spoken with one of shop owners in Chelsea Market and they told me they were not impressed with the lobster roll. I tried one anyway and unfortunately they were correct. With that said the market is a... More

i loved this place. my only regret was that i couldn't try everything there. food is fresh ,plentiful and well priced. it is busy and has limited seating. be prepared to wait a long time for seating. difficult if you are in a large group or with small children unless you are lucky to find seating in the halls of... Very commonly you'll watch people leaving this place with huge lobsters in a tray, to eat outside. I took a shrimp wrap, which was very fresh. Excellent option for a light meal.

If you like seafood, you MUST visit the Lobster place! Food is incredibly fresh and cheap, comparing to other places in NYC.
