Asked the concierge at Marriott Marquis for best Italian food.... Yes. This was scrumptious. Every course. Every bite. ( one thing... Although we had a reservation for the main room, we got put in the wine bar. Atmosphere is attempted authentic. ) however, the food and service was excellent.

I'll make it short. Food = excellent Service = excellent Atmosphere = Extremely loud! We're low maintenance and generally tolerant people, but this runined our evening. We litterally couldn't hear each other across the table. Several tables were comprised of loud, rude, inconsiderate patrons and management did nothing about it. We watched one couple get up and leave due to the... More

We arrived in San Diego in the evening for a pre-cruise stay. We wandered out to find a bite to eat and as the hotel where we were staying (Best Western Plus Bayside) was only a couple of blocks away we decided to go to Little Italy. We walked by the Buon Appetito which was packed with diners. Always a... More

If you like fresh ingredients, homemade pasta, shaved parmesan - Buon Appetito is for you! My F$$$ttini (veal stuffed pasta purses on the special sheet) with slightly creamy tomato sauce was perfect! The pasta was as thin as a wonton wrapper. The filling wasn't too dense, but rather light and texturally pleasant. I ate more than I should have -... More

...in a warm and friendly place! We were lucky enough to find a table for two on a Sunday evening without reservation, right next to the bar, quite small but cosy and charming. On the "daily specials" I had eyes only for the "pork osso buco with 4 cheese risotto"- a culinary dream properly accompanied by a bottle of TorCalvano... More

This restaurant has several daily specials, and both times we went, we tried the specials and they were delicious! The pasta is fresh, the salads were fresh, and all we had was delicious. They serve their appetizer bread with a small bowl of a garlic-y tomato sauce (not hot), totally delicious (but you can get olive oil and balsamic vinegar... More

If you make a stop in San Diego and you love Italian food you have to visit here. It is a small place, kinda crowded so make reservations or be prepared to wait most nights. The servers will steer you right as to what on the menu is the best way to go on that particular night. The bread and... More

We had a wonderful evening here, except my husband forgot which restaurant we were going to and had the cab drop us off 1 1/2 blocks away (not good when you're wearing 5" heels!) and the restaurant was incredibly hot. We were really happy to have a table near the door so we could feel a slight breeze. We thought... More

What a find. We showed up around 1:00PM and snagged an outside table. The menu looked interesting with classic Italian cuisine leading the parade and the wine list was reasonable with a nice selection. Our server, Giuseppe, was phenomenal; he really made our time there special--just enough attention without hovering. We stared off with the antipasti, which I complete recommend... More

I came with a group of about 28 during a conference. The restaurant had been researched and picked by the daughter of my friend who moonlights as a food critic, so I was optimistic coming in and not disappointed. Nobody in our group left without being impressed at both the food and the service. I got the Linguine alla Scoglio... More
