5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2013 NEW

We have gone to Laughing Seed perhaps 10 times over the years coming thru Asheville Not vegetarians but enjoy well cooked interesting food. We stopped only for drinks and appetizers. The hummus is excellent and with the sides created a great taste treat. The seitan skewers with pineapple sauce and a green was interesting and also tastey. First time I... More

Plant was the destination restaurant for my birthday and it was definitely a phenomenal choice. The food was delicately prepared, full of flavor, the atmosphere was pleasant with knowledgable and friendly staff. The prices and portions were fair and the creativity and care put in the dishes was truly delectable. Thanks Plant!!! Once again showing us truly plant-based nutrition can... More

It is absolutely beyond me how anyone could give Plant anything less than 5 stars. I was in line the day they opened and haven't stopped eating here ever since. Each experience at Plant becomes one of those meals where every bite prompts a wide-eyed, awestruck "mmmmmmm!!!" The food is creative, lively, gorgeous and delicious... although sometimes slow to come... More

We had dinner at Plant on the recommendation of our hotel staff. It was amazing and lived up to all the high praise. Our waitress was friendly and really great with our 3 kids. The food was outstanding - we are a vegetarian family and sometimes struggle to get food that is unusual...not at Plant, here the menu was so... More

Plant, the restaurant with roots, is an inconspicuous roadside eatery on Merrimon Ave., on the north side of Asheville. They aspire to join the host of eateries in Asheville characterized by an emphasis on vegetable based, "all natural", "healthy" and "organic" menu items. The fried "jerk" seitan with whipped cauliflower was tastey and served with a mish mash of other... More

This is a great restaurant for anyone with an openmind. The staff is friendly and willing to answer questions. We started with cups of the soup du jor, which was a spicy lentil soup. Our entrees were the hazelnut crusted Seitan and the smoked Portabella steak and we finished our meals sharing a Cannolo for dessert. The lentil soup was... More

We had the jerk Seitan and the "oysters" both were served with jalapeño red potatoes. The jerk seitan was served with collard greens which I never ate or even thought that I liked. We travel and try new vegan restaurants. This one rated as one of the best we have found. Go there as quickly as you can. Have the... More

We elected to go to this restaurant on arrival for our first evening in Asheville because it was only a few minutes walk from our B&B Inn. It was a Friday evening but the B&B managed to reserve a table for us. Neither my wife and I are vegan but we were vegetarians for many years and like any good... More

It's 3 a.m.,,,, I am tossing and turning still so bothered by what was a disastrous and overly expensive night out at this restaurant. It was "our bad" for including in our party of seven two children -- an 11 and 15 year old - who struggled with the menu. My feeling was that if the food is done well,... More

heavenly food and lot of vegan/vegetarian options. We had tomato soup, cinnamon roll, tofu noodle and key lime parfait ice cream. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. We are definitely going there again on next visit.
