We were recommended this restaurant by a local and were delighted. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and read our minds before we asked for anything. Truffle risotto was on the special for the night and they offered it as an appetizer or an entree. It was the best that I have ever eaten. Everything that we ordered was... More

Fantastic find. Small, intimate neighborhood restaurant with great food and service. The staff and owner were very visible and attentive, without being intrusive. Great Italian wine list and excellent food. We will definitely be back.

We started with wine and the appetizer platter. Excellent food. I had the scallops, which were excellent. At the end we ordered dessert and they added extra desserts for free. Best of all was the service. Glasses were never empty. At the end of the night, the served Port and kept refilling our glasses. Don't miss the bathroom. Sounds strange,... More

Allegro Romano is an outstanding Italian restaurant. The portions and the prices are very good but most importantly the food is excellent. My scallops and risotto in squid ink was amazing -- a great set of flavors, some unexpected. The carpaccio and caprese salad were also great. My wife's pasta was devoured. In addition, Allegro Romano has a very affordable... More

We were recommended this place by the concierge at pour hotel who indicated it was one of san Francisco secrets. He was not mistaken. The food was good, arguably very good but out was the detail in service that makes the place excel. Highly attentative without being over bearing. A wide range of clientele were dining when we were there,... More

A friend of mine used Yelp to find this restaurant (sorry TA!) and we were not disappointed. This restaurant is very small and has a very close, intimate feel. It would be good for a date night or a couples dinner. Some things that annoyed me: parking - but that's a common complaint in big cities, and really I should... More

We arrived a little early on a rainy Friday, and were delighted with the reception and the service. We were not disappointed after the rave reviews! The White Truffle Tortollini was amazing, the veal saltimbocca was excellent, as was the fettuccine with boar bolognese. The sauted Chanterelles with spinach and garlic were irrisistable, and the tomatoe soup with Mozarella was... More

I joined my party late to dinner because of horrendous traffic, so I wont fault the restaurant for telling us we had limited time at the table, but in the scheme of restaurant offerings at this price point in SF, we won't be returning. The restaurant is located on a corner in Russian Hill in a cute neighborhood. Parking is... More

Allegro Romano is a realtively small, relatively intimate Italian restaurant toward the northern side of San Francisco which offers a menu of substantial variety, very reasonably priced for the city. The owner is an agreeable, ever-present fellow who appears to keep services at top level. My wife and I do not live in San Francisco but often make a point... More
