This place had been recommended by a friend and made the journey for lunch. Salads were a real winner and the blackened shutome to accompany them was about the best fish we had on our 10 day trip. Prices reasonable compared to many of the touristy spots. Worth a trip.

The space is lovely, both the indoor seating and the courtyard, surrounded by flowering trees and art galleries, in the middle of historic Makawao town on Maui. I watched this space change hands several times and although I wanted to be a fan, I just don't think it's worth the effort on my part. The food is okay, but not... More

Small bistro in Makawao - off the beaten trail. If you happen through this area, give it a try. Had the fresh catch sandwich and goat cheese fritters. Excellent.

I am a eggs benedict snob! And for very good reason. I make one of the best I have ever had. Until now, this chef is getting it done right! A must have is the fresh fish eggs benedict. Spot on perfect. Todays fresh catch was swordfish and OMG amazing. Served blackened with local grown tomato and the rest is... More

At first we wondered if we had made a mistake when we saw that the prices were higher than the other lunch places. But the goat cheese fritters were so good my wife ordered extras, and the fish special was perfectly cooked. The waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Go there.

We did not have the opportunity to visit Market Fresh Bistro for their once a week dinner. But we visited them for lunch. Food was simple, fresh, and beautifully done. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are near the upcountry. Makawao is a charming town worth a visit as well.

met my Mom and brother in Makawao (aka Paniolo Town ...Hawaiian speak for cowboy town) for a lunch before going to see the art exhibit at Viewpoints Gallery just across the lovely brick courtyard... they were quite busy as it's spring break here in Hawaii so a few families were there and the usual assortment of visitors as well... sat... We were referred to this restaurant for lunch while visiting Kula Botanical Garden, another great stop when upcountry. This is a small restaurant almost hidden in the back of a courtyard among wonderful art galleries, an amazing glass blower, etc. It is well worth finding this gem. Everything prepared with the freshest ingredients, wonderful sauces, spices. The Opakapaka fish special... More
