Description: Chef Mark and Judy Ellman have opened a seafood shack, right next door to Mala Ocean Tavern. Honu Seafood and Pizza also sits right on the rocks of the Pacific Ocean, with 50 beers, an organic and eclectic wine list, and an extensive scotch and rum selection. Mark and Judy have created an environment that soothes the savage beasts craving of oysters on the half shell, steamed clams and mussels, Crab Louis salad, a selection of Hawaiian seafood, as well as fish from the West and East Coasts of the US. Honu also features a 900 degree brick-oven turning out artisinal pizzas. Come to Honu, drink a local Micro-brewed beer ,eat some freshly shucked oysters on the half shell, and let your eyes and soul relax into the Pacific. Honu, like Mala, is run by Mark and Judy Ellman and their two daughters Ariana and Michelle. Remember, we always try and practice Aloha. Please come and practice with us. Aloha.

We have been to Honu a few different times and the results have been different. The pizza is pretty good for Maui. The menu is not very expansive. The drinks are nice and the location is TOPS! My wife ordered the dungeness crab mac-n-cheese. There was VERY LITTLE crab to be found. After we gave them a chance to DO... More

Another restaurant on Front Street at the north end of Lahaina, Maui. Not much to look at on the outside, but just like its' sister restaurant (Ma'la), Right on the water. Not too pricey, but we go and split several appetizers. A little less food, a lot more variety, and a little cheaper in price. Just like Ma'la, make a... More

You've heard of "oceanside" dining? Well this is "ocean-on!" With waves practically lapping at your ankles, this is a Lahaina gem-location. Unless it's your first night on Maui and you've arrived by steamer, you'll understand that restaurants cost a premium here. If you're choosing a nice restaurant for a memorable date, or good times with your traveling friends, this is... More

Great menu, staff, and the best sunset on the island. We had a few drinks and some great appetizers, but the pizza was memorable.

What a find! We were seated at a table right on the water just past sunset and got to enjoy the sound of the ocean and view of the twinkling lights on the boats. Started with the Rock Shrimp and Asparagus - delicious, fresh and huge portion! Entrees were Wok-fried Dungeness Crab and Fresh Monchong Dore Style and both were... More

I usually sit at the bar and have appetizers which is always a good way to get a seat at this very busy restaurant! I met my friend for lunch the other day and really fell in love with the daytime atmosphere in this place, not to mention that tables and seats were available in the dining room without a... More

We have visited Maui many times and had not tried this special place. The storefront looks humble, but walk inside to see a beautifully appointed dining area. We got a table right next to the ocean. Our service was excellent and the food delicious. Loved the Marguerita pizza with fresh basil and the gado gado salad. Eat here, you won't... More

This restaurant is in Lahaina Town, about a 15 minute walk from "main" front street. This restaurant is small, with an even smaller patio right on the water. Make reservations - very easy on opentable.com. We had a 730 pm reservation but ended up being about 30 minutes late... The restaurant was incredibly understanding and held our table! For dinner,... Honu has great food and beautiful views. One of the less tacky/chain feeling restaurants in Lahaina. The food is very good, mix of fancier meals and pizza/bar type food. Everything is very good. All of the tables have good views but if you are lucky enough there are some tables that border right onto the beach. Pretty busy during high... More

We went here on the last night of our stay in Lahaina. Our reservation was at 6:30 but found if we wanted to sit on the patio you had to get there at 5 and just hang around for the sun to set or you would never get a table there for dinner. We had a table a couple of... More
