the burgers are great, we love the 99 cents sundaes they have and if you go on your birthday, you get one free and a card for a 1 free sundae a month for a year

I first started going to The Gritty back in college at their downtown location. A second location was added here in Middleton 10 years ago. Similar atmosphere as the downtown location without the drunk college students after 8. Our favorite is their fried cheesecurds with Gritty Sauce. I hit this for lunch one day. Quite a menu selection. Good burger - pretty tasty. Quick service too. They seem to sell themselves as the place to have special events like birthdays, etc. The walls are covered with pictures of groups holding their special events. Quite nice looking at the special occasions over the years capture in pictures.

We had the Southwest and the Nitty Gritty special burger. Excellent taste. The service was a bit slow and they got a bit confused. But they specialize in birthdays and it was a fun place.

burgers are horrible, aren't cooked the way ordered. came ala cart when not asked. the only reason it might be worth going is if it's ur bday and u get ur free mug and free drinks... thats about all they're good for.

burgers are horrible, aren't cooked the way ordered. came ala cart when not asked. The server never refilled our drinks several times, we had to constantly ask. the only reason it might be worth going is if it's ur bday and u get ur free mug and free drinks... thats about all they're good for.

Dined at the Nitty Gritty Middleton location (608) 833-6489 on 04/17/2010 prior to a UW event at the Kohl’s Center. We use to go to the downtown location but the wait to be seated can be hours and the service is much better at the Middleton location.
