It is a typical Wisconsin Bar, with a surprisingly, yummy, atypical bar food, great for vegetarians too! We had the hummus platter with wonderful warm pita wedges, chicken salad pita, pork tenderloin sandwich, falafel, the portabella mushroom burger - marinated and juicy, fresh grilled asparagus and corn bread to take you to heaven!!! All of this is made to order... More

We stopped here for a few beers after a meeting at the Osthoff Resort. I'll start by saying that I really like a typical Wisconsin bar, and this is one of them. They had a decent beer selection, including Ale Asylum's Hopalicious which is one of my favorites. We didn't try the food. It is set up as a rustic... More

It has some bad reviews. BUT I do love this place... It has been our go to bar for the past few years when we visit. The bartenders are really down to earth and give good recomendations... they have a stage for live music, a pool table, AND they have swings hanging from the ceiling which all make for a... More

We had high hopes for this place since we seem to gravitate toward beer pubs. Brown Baer probably had the worst selection of beers on tap of any pub we have been to. The beers they had you could find at any of the restaurants in town. No IPA and no stout seems unheard of in a pub nowadays. As... More

The Brown Baer is an old fashioned tavern with a big bar and a pool table. The food is delicious and not fried for a refreshing change. My husband who is crazy about cornbread says it is the best he has ever eaten, always consistently great. Good soups, excellent burgers on Sheboygan style hard rolls and some other interesting choices.... More

Great choice abide in this neuvo style place. Hundreds of ornaments hanging from the ceiling, chick bartenders with tattos; what not to like? Great beer selection and a funky food menu including roasted brussel sprouts (to die for according to my wife), a great cibatta cheesburger and even cornbread. And then there is the crab-cake sandwhich. Yum. You get some... More

Went for lunch and after we got over the initial surprise of walking into a very open bar with very few tables, we sat at the bar to a decent meal. The chicken vegetable soup was very good, the crab cake sandwich and the veggie burger were both, average. The ciabatta buns were very good. The bartender/waitress was very friendly and... More

We always grab dinner and a beer at this newer addition to the Elkhart dining scene. The homemade cornbread will make your mouth water, the burger may be the best in town, and I've yet to be disappointed by one of their specials. They have live music many nights as well. An Elkhart favorite of ours!

This place has great food and since they don't have a deep fryer everything is steamed. In my opinion they have the best chicken wings you can get, and all of the food has great flavor. Some of the bartenders can make you feel like your inconveniencing them but other ones are great. Highly recommended!

We have our annual spring get-away weekend and always go to the Brown Baer for drinks and food. The only way to describe the interior is eclectic in a fun way. Every bar stool is different. There are couches on a stage/platform, swings, and a corner table with a metal pole coming up the middle to the ceiling (I’m drawing... More
