5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2013 NEW

We visited the Bellevue location of El Gaucho on Saturday evening for our 28th anniversary and had a wonderful, wonderful time. We were greeted at the curb by the valet and then by the hostess---very welcoming. And the friendliness continued from all members of the staff who not only served us but also passed by our table. The table was... More

My fiance and I tend to come here on special occasions to "splash out" with a steak, and some wine/cocktails. I generally go for the chowder to start, and my fiance tries the sambal shrimp. The smallest steak comes at a price of around $50 dollars, but it is always really delicious. Be careful though, because the sides are extra,... More

If you are going here you are hopefully going for steaks. All their steaks are grilled so you have to like that grilled flavor otherwise its definitely worth skipping. Their seafood sampler while large was overcooked and definitely nothing amazing. Steak with truffle butter you could hardly taste the truffles in but the mac & cheese with truffles was very... More

This was my wife's birthday and we have a history with El Gaucho Restaurants. The original El Gaucho which used to be on 9th and Olive in Seattle was one of our favorite special occasion restaurants. So, we had high expectations of the Bellevue restaurant. We were disappointed. For one thing, the meal was exceedingly expensive, even for a premier... More

We live in the area and often schedule special occasion dinners at El Gaucho. We have never been disappointed. The steaks are excellent. The wait staff is friendly. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and spread out, so you don't feel cramped for space. There are many sides to share and we especially love the SW potatoes. For dessert we... More

If you're looking for casual dining with very good food at a very pricey ($100/person including cocktails) cost then this will suit you. Expensive for the comparable restaurants in the area and without the top level service this well appointed restaurant/bar in the downtown Bellevue offers great streaks with large and expensive side dishes designed for two at a minimum.... A nice busy atmosphere - and unlike a lot of US steak restaurants not too dark. Pretty pricey - but were able to serve up a fantastic hamburger even though it wasn't on the menu. Service was excellent throughout.

We really enjoyed our meal at El Gaucho. The food was so incredibly tasty, everything we ordered was so good. My husband ordered a filet, which was melt in your mouth tasty. I ordered a chicken & lobster meal that was excellent as well. The sides were all so good, but the lobster mashed potatoes were amazing. SO good. Aside... More

El Gaucho is an excellent restaurant specializing in steaks. The steaks are excellent and have never had a bad one in over 5 years of going to the restaurant. They also serve seafood, poultry and other specialties and I have never had a bad meal there! The ambiance is classy and elegant but inviting. It is a large restaurant with... More

Personally, I think when you get to a certain level of dining, there is only so much you can do to the meal. A great cut of beef, well aged and cooked to perfection can be delivered at multiple restaurants. Service is what sets a restaurant apart. My husband and I had a steak dish and a scallop dish. The...
