The heading say it all really. The food was good as was the view from the verandah and our waitress was excellent, being efficient and at the same time very friendly and banter-capable with us. Very impressive in one so young. The prices are quite high but there are specials available which offer better deals.
Don't know why a pizzeria is rated number one in kerikeri. The pear tree ticked all of the right boxes and made for a perfect birthday dinner!! Met the staff afterwards and found a lovely bunch of people behind the scenes, sad to say it has now been sold on. Hopefully the next owners keep up the standard.
Have eaten at The Pear Tree a number of times in the past. Having moved away from the area we returned for a meal last week. The food as always was absolutely delicious. A lovely meal, great presentation, and a good size. The fish and chips amazing. Verandah seating a must.
It took about 10 minutes to get menus and have our drink orders taken but the wait was worth it.

The best meal I have had in a long time. It was worth the trip to Keri Keri just for this restaurant
The food here was lovely, the fish particularly so. The wine list was good and reasonably priced. Ask for a table in the conservatory and you get lovely views, but it was quite cool - you need a jacket or wrap.
We ate there twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. The setting is great. Sitting outside, you can watch the kingfish chasing the mullet across the river basin. Unfortunately, the food was not particularly good on either of our visits. I had the i antipasto for lunch and it really wasn't anything more than you would have collected in...
