If you like Mexican cooking but are bored with the typical American presentations of the cuisine, you must try Frida’s. Located in an old house in the center of Stowe, it offers many surprising and tasty variations on typical Mexican dishes. For example, our appetizers were Albondigas, which are pork meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce, and empanadas made with... More

I would have expected a decent Margarita for $11.50 - not. Changed to Sangria (my experience is you can take so so wine fruit & make decent Sangria. Not much in the way of good local beers either. On to food.... Guacamole was excellent, made at the table, fresh. Not a difficult thing to do but often it's not fresh... More

The guac was by far the best we've had and the price for it; amazing. We've had lesser quality and portioned guac for more than the $9.95 we paid. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable and made selecting a meal very easy. The atmosphere was not too loud and even with the fast pace, the wait staff was attentive and... More

Well, I was hopeful.....had the queso flameado, which was a greasy mess with the peppers and onions buried on the bottom. Served with overly salty thick tortilla chips. No salsa. I also ordered a the ensalada picada, which sounded delicious. It gave boring a new name. Blander than bland.

Fiddlehead fern tacos, squash enchiladas .... Yeah, you'll be surprised at the menu. You may also be surprised at the prices which while in line for a resort town are still high for a Mexican restaurant. Would I go back? Yeah, probably so.

Restaurant located on Main street with great terrace. Sampled salad, chimichanga and enchiladas with chicken. Great prices for quality of food and taste. Great quick service.

It honestly never would have occurred to me to get Mexican when visiting Stowe for the weekend. However, the lady at the front desk at our Inn suggested Frida's so we went with it... Boy am I happy we did! The atmosphere is very cool. Our waitress (I want to say Miranda?) was great - so friendly and accommodating! My... More

We went to Frida's when vacationing in Stowe. The atmosphere was nice, lots of booth seating but the portions were very small. We ordered a variety of tacos and they should have been called, "miniatures." They were tasty but not great and the tacos were about 4 inches in diameter. We had read reviews about the guacamole, which is made... More

I really enjoyed the tacos and homemade guacamole here. We sat in the bar which wasn't great because the service wasn't that friendly and the tables and chairs were uncomfortable; however we loved the food and margaritas!
