We decided to have lunch at the Wynnstay on our way up to a week's stay in Snowdonia based on tripadvisor reviews and the sample menu on the website which featured a couple of game dishes. On arrival we received a warm and friendly welcome and were handed menus and a wine list. In addition to the a la carte... More

We have eaten out here many times, the hospitality is always second to none, warm and welcoming but not intrusive. The menu choices are from locally sourced ingredients and the food always tastes wonderful and cooked to specific requirements perfectly. We have been here for group meals, Sunday lunch and a wedding Anniversary and the service has always been fantastic,... More

Have been coming to The Wynnstay for several years now and always have a very enjoyable meal. The venison is especially good as is the extensive cheese board! Scallops always cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth. Seasonal menu using local suppliers. Always a difficult decision of what to have.

Have eaten here a few times at lunchtimes only. Good varied and changing menu with plenty of local produce. Well cooked and presented. Pleasant staff and good service. We found Sunday lunch a bit disappointing in comparison with the weekday menu.

Food all sourced locally, served without fuss or frills and reasonably good wine list. Nothing to complain about providing you like all your meat very pink. No problems having changes made though. Staff very accommodating

I have been here several times and always found it excellent. Really cozy place and atmosphere - lovely fire too. Service is always great. We have always been very impressed with the food. As a vegetarian the choice here doesn't just feel like an afterthought, effort has been given to create interesting meals. It's genuinely one the best, most enjoyable... More

About five years ago we had a bar meal in the Wynnstay on a quiet January day. My father fancied cheese after his main course but there was none on the menu. He spoke to the waiter and asked if they could find some cheese for him. The waiter returned with a platter of five cheeses which he then left... More

Went for a lovely meal a couple of years ago - in fact - a memorable meal. So was slightly confused at poor restaurant rating on TA. In fact poor reviews did put us off and we planned to go somewhere else, but on finding that place shut - we returned to the Wynnstay. OK - it was a quiet... More

fine meal here last sat evening - nice small bar with 3 realales - 2 of which were quite local i think which is always good to see . imaginative menu strong on local produce including seafood given the town's proximity to the coast - but also some game and lamb reflecting another part of the local heritage. i had...
