A few days ago we went for lunch in the Blue Monkey. Great food, had the wild rice and chicken dinner. It was outstanding.Great service.
We ate there on a Saturday night. No one was there to greet and seat us. We seated ourselves and waited for a waitress so long that I went to the bar and got our menus. It was so empty that it looked like a week night. Then, we ordered our food, a chicken club sandwich and their stuffed mushrooms.... More
We went there for our friends 21st birthday. My wife who is 39 did not have her license. They would not let her in. She stayed outside and we went in. we went to the patio area where she was. One of our friends brought her a beer. The jerk off bouncer said she can't drink that and slapped the... More
Not crowed but great food early on a very busy night EVERYWHERE. It was cranking up as we were leaving. Did I mention the food was great too!

We were looking for a place for lunch before leaving Memphis. Happened upon the Blue Monkey, and were pleased with our lunch and our servier. Good value. Rustic local place. Would visit in evening if we had the chance.
Great menu and atmosphere. Lots of locals. Smoking friendly. This place can get loud if a band is playing.

We waited for almost 15 minutes and went and got our own menus and told the waitress where we were sitting and that we were... More
The food is okay; used to have a huge menu, they cut back and tried to make it "fancier" but it's just bar-food. the major downside: they decided to keep allowing smoking after the TN Smoking Ban, and therefore no one under the age of 21 is allowed in, ever. And, it's one of the few (maybe 5) places in... More
