The Powder Monkey is by far the most inviting and pleasing pub in Exmouth. The food menu is excellent and the real ales are mapped on the wall from local Devon Breweries (e.g. Exmoor and O'Hanlons). Centrally situated a great plce to eat for all ages and the staff were very freindly.

After going into other dog friendly pubs in Exmouth, I went into the front garden with my small well behaved dog, my partner went into the bar and was ordering drinks when I saw a sign that dogs were not allowed in the garden, it was so embarassing as I went by the door to attract his attention, a member... We have eaten at various branches of Wetherspoons in the past and the meals have always been quite enjoyable and good value for money. However, we were very disappointed with our meal at The Powder Monkey in Exmouth earlier this week. My partner ordered a Caesar Chicken Salad-the chicken content was fine but the salad consisted ONLY of lettuce! My... More

We have been here quite a few times as we think its good value for money. Always busy but have always found a table. A good choice menu and some good offers ie free drink with certain meals. Never had to wait too long for order and staff always polite.Would certainly recommend it to friends.

I decided to have pancakes and bacon , the pancakes were only just luke warm i do not expect to be hot. The bacon was stone cold. This seems to be an issue at all wetherspoons I have visited. Surely this is a concern as food should be heated to acertain temperature to kill any bacteria. The prices are very... More

Asked for the TV volume to be turned up as the Rugby International was on, it was turned up slightly, then 5 minutes later turned back down again! A female bar staff was 'unpolite' to my husband.... No atmosphere, so we left....

Took family for meal - six adults - a wide range of food - excellent quality - average cost food and dring less than £8.50 each where can you get a steak and a pint of real ale for that? Then popped in on Valentines night with wife - it was packed unlike many nearby establishments - we both had... More

We visited on 'Curry' night and had the best 'pub' bought Curry compared with anywhere else. We had the Chicken Tikka Massala extra special one and it was cooked perfectly, along with the rice, pappadoms, nann bread, onion bhajis, Bombay potatoes and veg triangle, Everything was spot-on.
