Had a hamburger for lunch here. Only had to wait a little bit before order was ready. Service was really good. They had a cheese bread appetizer that was simply great. I definitely would visit again.

Spankies has become a Sunday tradition. The counter and bar staff are relaxed, friendly and helpful. The food is excellent as always and lunch portions are available. The homemade desserts are usually freshly stocked in the case and unlike the evenings, Sunday lunch is self service. This means groups can settle in for a good visit with no guilt about... More

Casual, comfortable, delicious food, great service and reasonable prices. What more could you want? The bar staff and wait staff have been keeping the customers happy for so long that the warmth has soaked into the barn-wood flooring and it just comes out to greet you as you walk in the door.

Been going here for years since college. Really started to appreciate it after college. Good drinks and great time. Get here early enough for a table though. Great service and great drinks.

My wife and I recently to her hometown and as always Spankies is a priority. The food is a well prepared and served with excellent service. You must take time to sit at the bar and meet some new friends and if you were with my wife reconnect with many old ones. This is a must when in Cookeville.

I don't know what is in that bread, but it was delicious. Food was great, service was excellent, atmosphere was good. Will return. Recommended by hotel staff and several locals.

First introduced to Spankie's after attending a graduation at TTU. Now, we have to stop by for our favorite meal while on the road: Beer battered fish. I always get okra and loaded mashed potatoes for sides. The servers have always been very friendly. Only once was the service slow. My husband has tried other entrees and has always been... More

We had a southwestern salad that was out of this world. Ambience was comfortable and very college town. Service was a bit slow. Still, good place for a good meal.

It is not uncommon while eating in Spankies to see your favorite(or least favorite) college professor at the table across the way. The food at Spankies is very good although fairly simple and they have a great selection of beer and wine. The atmosphere is more or less higher class than most "bars" you will go to in Cookeville but... More

College town hang-out, but also good for after concert suppers and just about any time! Their cheese bread appetizer is incredibly good and I've not had anything that wasn't delicious - it's all yummy! Also some good local brews.
