Loved this restaurant. It's tucked away (you can't see it from the street) but it's worth seeking out. Excellent shrimp and grits.
Sat outside which I dont normally do, but really enjoyed the whole experience. From the hostess that seated us to the waitress that took our orders it was a great experience. My steak was cooked to perfection. I come from a city of great restaurants and this would have given any of them a run for their money!!
My wife and I ate here while on our honeymoon and the food is awesome. Great local ingredients and great service makes this restaurant one of the best I have ever been to. The catfish is great and the apple cinnamon spring rolls for desert are awesome.
Next to the railroad tracks in Five Points, Mr. Friendly's was a hit with my friend who had never been there before. Good Southern menu selection, good prices, good wine selection, and we got to see a train go by 50' away. Doesn't get any better than this.
Very good food and very friendly servers. We went totally southern with fried pickles, shrimp and grits and pimento cheese dip. The cheese dip was not much different than chain restaurants similar item up north so that was disappointing. I would go back to try more in a flash. Very hard to find as there is no streetside sign and... More
I have eaten here on numerous occasions during frequent trips to Columbia. The food is excellent, and takes traditional Southern dishes to new heights. The wine selections are superb. Definitely the place to eat if you have only one night in Columbia.
This restaurant has good food, but somewhat pricey for what you got. It was very busy in spite of being very difficult to locate. Located in a strip mall, off the main street, and no signs on the main street. Took several attempts before finding it. The cliental was somewhat young. Warning, do not go by the prices on the... We called ahead for reservations, but were told it was first come, first served only. We ended up waiting over an hour- most of which we spent waking around Five Points. We were seated at an outdoor table, which was lovely except for the lack of lighting. The service was good and the food even better. Classic southern dishes with... More
It was a beautiful walk from our downtown hotel through USC campus to get here. The food was unusual and incredible. All the recommendations from our waitress were right on. Southern cooking taken to a fine dining experience. Every single item the four of us had was great. One of my companions couldn't stop raving about the chicken. Our waitress,... More
This place is a little hard to find but worth the effort. The food is excellent and value priced. The restaurant has a funky little vibe that features local art. The fried green tomato pimento cheese BLT is heaven.
