A recommendation from Food Network led us there--very good low country menu and well done! Food was tasty and presented nicely...good service too! There is outdoor seating which is very nice by the historical streets and the inside is a welcoming older home. Good place to stop for lunch or dinner.

Food very good. Atmosphere is quite fine and when you throw in the resident ghost it has a unique charm.

We ate here during our recent weekend visit to Charleston. My father-in-law had sailed his boat in for the weekend to meet up with us, and had never visited Charleston before. We chose Poogan's Porch more out of necessity (it was the only restaurant available with a semi-decent reservation time left - 9PM). In making the reservation, we failed to... More

After hearing about Poogans porch from local's and our Ghost tour, we went for dinner on Friday night. After a short wait we were fortunate enough to get an outside table on the front porch. We had one of the best meals there while we were in Charleston. The Southern Buttermilk Chicken was terrific along with their Scallops. Service and... More

Amazing shrimp and grits with blue crab gravy... Table of 6 people and all were extremely pleased. The Sunday mimosa special helped too!

After hearing about Poogan's Porch on our ghost tour, we decided to eat lunch here. The food was excellent. All of the portions were generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. They were also able convert one of their meals into a vegetarian meal for one of the members at my table. The restuarant is located in a lovely,... More

I had the nicest dinner here recently, sitting outside on the lovely front porch. I went out of my comfort zone and tried the snapper dinner which is accompanied by a grit cake and pulled pork with BBQ sauce. I have to say, this dish was out of control! I enjoyed every bite, it was very very good. That plus... More

Poogan's Porch might not look like a plush and high class dining restaurant from the outside, but I am sure they are 1 of the best restaurants here which serve delicious southern cuisine. We went to this restaurant after a recommendation from a local tour guide and my friend who has eaten here before. Indeed, the food is awesome. I... More

Had a decent dining experience at Poogan's. Everyone on staff was nice as could be. The hostess were pleasant and the waitress was very nice and helpful. But they couldn't make up for the food. The food was either poorly executed or the recipes were poorly conceived. For example- I had a piece of seared grouper. The grouper was a... More

Beautiful setting and awesome food. Great way to experience dishes Charleston is known for --she crab soup, shrimp and grits, etc. Best biscuits I've ever had. Shrimp and grits were heavenly. Scallop and pork belly starter was delicious. She-crab soup rich and tasty. Regret we did not get dessert. Highly recommended.
