We were very excited to learn that a restaurant in nearby Newtown had added a Vegan section to its menu. There are few vegan/vegetarian places in the area, so this was welcome news, especially because it makes dining with our carnivorous friends a bit easier. We went with another couple (not vegetarians) so that we would be able evaluate both... More

This place is awesome - very small, kind of hidden. Great feel to it, almost like you are in another part of the world. Highly recommend dining here with your significant other.

The Cafe was a cozy basement restaurant with a menu of eclectic choices. Everything was a la carte. Prices were reasonable with pasta dishes and some chicken dishes in the teens. Fish and steak in the 20's. The portions were generous. My seafood fra diavolo was good but not something that was memorable. My wife ordered blackened salmon . She... More

The soups are great and homemade. Some are spicy. Good sandwiches and salads. I go here for lunch and haven't tried dinner. Everything I have had on the lunch menu has been good- caesar salad with chicken, stir fry, spinach salad.

Last night I went for a GNO with a friend. I had the sashimi tuna (on the specials menu) she had the shrimp and scallops. Both were done to perfection!!!! The waitress was a delight and we sat and enjoyed a nice leisurely, DELICIOUS dinner. We finished off with the chocolate cake for dessert, which was out of the world!!!!!

The food here is terrific. However, my daughter suffered a severe allergic reaction after eating the bruschetta because it was made with pesto which contained walnuts. The menu only listed tomato, onion, and basil as the ingredients, which is a traditional bruschetta, not a pesto bruschetta. The real problem came with the reaction of the chef/owner when she called him... More

It was a Saturday evening and my husband and I were out doing errands...we live about 25 min away and by the time we got there it was a little after 9pm on a SATURDAY Night and they were closed. You could still see one couple left inside eating and they had locked there doors on a Saturday night!! NOT... More

Waitress was pleasant, big smile. Food was very different, added a flare. loved the soup! Bread and drinks came out fast. Thought the decor was odd, but it is located in a basement of a house? Could use a little more. A rug, some table covers? I thought it took awhile for the entrees. Place was packed. I like the... More

Great food & BYOB. Small place behind the main street but worth the search. I love a byob since it helps keep the cost down. Friendly helpful service.

Cafe Con Leche has some really great things about it, and some not so great things. The food was good, but not for the price on the menu. Worth it with the Groupon we found. Otherwise, not worth the ~20 per plate. My boyfriend's chicken was good, but mashed potatoes and veggies were just okay. My ravioli [which was the... More
