Lovely setting on the harbour side of picturesque Mevagissey. Service is friendly, however of of the staffs aprons needed a good wash. The food was very tasty with warm friendly service. This was let down by chipped crockery and dust on top of the piri piri oil! Mains were a little expensive, starters and puddings reasonable. I loved the house... More

We took the precaution of booking a table as this is a small restaurant overlooking the harbour. Its run by a husband and wife team who clearly enjoy their work. It was interesting to be able to watch the food being cooked in the small kitchen which is at the back. There was a good, interesting choice to suit most... More

We live in Cornwall and eat out a lot! Alvorada is one of the best - and we eat here a lot! Sue and Tony have been so welcoming from our very first visit - and we love the food. You couldn't get any fresher fish - straight off the boat and into Tony's pan! There's never a problem if... More

Had a lovely evening in Alvorada! The chicken Piri- piri was really good and proper chips too!! The almond cake was delicious and wine good! Reasonable price with friendly service! Will definitely return! Thanks to the Da Silvas!

We were taken in by the reviews! Grossly overpriced, weird atmosphere, false greeting on arrival. Strange experience that costs you dearly. Go elsewhere!

We were made to feel very welcome straight away and the restaurant had a good atmosphere. the specials board provided some lovely extra choices. Highly recommend the mackerel pate or crab for starter and the lamb main. The seafood kebab main was good but not as good as the lamb! selection of Madeiras were great and finished the evening off well.... We found Alvorda to be a Portuguese themed restaurant , serving very over priced and somewhat mediocre food. The building itself is in the harbour and very picturesque . We didn't feel any passion in the food and there was nothing to make us recommend it. Sorry guys...

Turned up at 9pm on the off chance there might be a table free but it looked pretty full. However a table was found for us and we were made to feel welcome. Food was excellent we had the lamb which was delicious, but saw some of the fish dishes coming out of the kitchen and had food envy! Will... More

We stayed in Mevagissey for two nights. Not nearly long enough. Tried to book this restaurant the first night but it was full. Fortunately we were lucky the second night. The food is amazing and the host very passionate about his produce. Would recommend without hesitation.
