Yes, it is funky. Yes, it is tiny. Yes, it is a strange location. Yes, it is expensive. AND YES, it is the best food I've had in a Salem restaurant in memory. It is all about the owner/chef and his expertise with quality, fresh food. Okay, he's French, I expect good food. He delivers.

A very small menu that keeps the quality at it's highest form. Most all of the ingredients are local and fresh. The owner Bernard is on the floor most of the time and guides you perfectly with outstanding wine pairings for his excellent slow cooked entrees. My wife always wants to dine where you can enjoy food you will not... More

Nice wine list. Had a 2004 Alsatian Riesling that was smooth and great price at $58. they can't be making money on their wines. Vichysoisse was popular. Chicken liver mousse was smooth and buttery. 2 had sturgeon and described it as great and meaty. Had the duck confit that was nicely done. Finished with a pots de creme again nice... More

Just the most wonderful place to eat in Salem. If you can't go to Paris for dinner, close your eyes and you can easily pretend to be there. The service was very professional and non pretentious. And the food you may ask, keep your eyes closed and now you can pretend that you are in heaven. By the way, I have... More

As usual, Bernard outdid himself. Everything was fresh and the bread is to die for. Excellent food, charming atmosphere and simply a lovely experience every time.

This intimate spot was shared with us by our realtor when we moved to Salem. We were immediately greeted at the door by the owner Bernard and seated in a private cozy table for three, our 13 yr old daughter was with us as well. The menu is well laid out with 5-6 selections for the main meal. There are... More

We love going to this place. It's intimate, and feels like family. The cassolet is the best ever. Bernard cooked the best razor clams I've had- so tender. I thought I had it down- 30 to 60 seconds on a side but his were better. Let them suggest wine- some good local choices but larger more varied European list than... More

This little house is full of personality, good smells, and great food. It's on the west side of Salem so easy to miss. Kinky neighborhood. Every bite we had was terrific. The wait staff is totally involved in the preparations, so they know about the fresh ingredients and can describe the cooking processes--which you will ask about, I'm sure. Don't... More

This sweet little house holds a fabulous food experience. I am impressed that it can hold as many people as it does. Being faced with rabbit and octopus, duck and pork chops, I didn't know where to start! My friend and I love to eat so we started with quince and cheese for an appetizer. A great pairing and a...
