We managed to secure an early dinner booking at The Edge Restaurant and were happy to get a table as the dinner choices are not great in Coles Bay. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The location with views over the bay to Freycinet are fantastic. The sun set slowly and I had to excuse myself... More

My order if fish and chips comprised 2 x 7cm length pieces of flathead. I was dumbfounded that such a minute portion could make it out of the kitchen to a customer. Lovely views but would not recommend eating there- left underwhelmed and feeling ripped off!

Our choice of entree - wallabie and squid - were both great. Unfortunately, my husbands main of seafood was very disappointing. The mussels had not been cleaned properly and upon pointing this out to the waitress (who was very good) it was returned to the kitchen and then sent back to us by the 'chef' who claimed that was how... The decor in this restaurant is quite frankly odd. it looks a bit like an 80's disco club. Was not the best feel for a restaurant which i had assumed would be quite fancy. The food was fine from memory, going back 2 months from our visit, nothing is sticking out and bad or good but definitely nothing to write... More

My husband and I had a short stay at Freycinet National Park in the days before Christmas 2012. It wasn't until our last night that we discovered The Edge and we were both sorry we'd wasted our time at or retaurants. We shared the Charcuterie Board which was delicious and I had the seafood squid ink pasta. Divine! This is... More

Nothing complex here - a simple formula. A graat view overlooking the Hazards and a great meal. The chef started us off with his personal favourite - the selection of meats that he'd cured and preserved. A pretty impressive start. This is a class act in a remote location punching well above it's weight.

It was so good I have to start my review with dessert. As a "foodie" couple who dine out a number of times a week and regularly treat ourselves to fine dining experiences, the chocolate pudding dessert at The Edge restaurant rates as one of the best desserts we've tasted - luckily we both ordered it as I would have... I was really dissapointed with this restaurant. Firstly the decor is in a time warp, and the music playing inside was awful. It felt like a blast from the 80s - no personality or atmosphere whatsoever -however the views are stunning! In my opinion I was not impressed with the food. The scallop entree was bland and very oily. Our... More
