New management and new chef, excellent friendly service and food.I had fish and chips, the fish with a light crispy beer batter melted in the mouth, my partner had the home made burger, delicious! Would recommend to anyone with a healthy appetite who appretiates good food.

Visiting antique shops in Petworth and decided to find somewhere to have lunch and a pint, The Star looked just the ticket, we ordered fish & chips and both agreed it was the best we have ever had. If you are in Petworth you must visit The Star you will not be disappointed.

Visiting Petworth we were recommended The Star in the Market Square for Sunday lunch. The restaurant in under new management. We required a table for eight, without any fuss tables were put together, the prompt service could not be faulted. Food was excellent and well presented. Have no hesitation in recommending The Star.

Stopped yesterday for Sunday lunch with a group of friends The food was fantastic and Chris the new licencee has a great sense of humour, he has only been there for 7 weeks but has worked wonders with the place. A simple but very good roast Sunday lunch with well kept Fullers 'London Pride' at a very reasonable price. In the pretty village of Petworth, this makes a ideal stop during a day of walking in the beautiful Sussex countryside. I recommend that you call in advance and book a table.
