Nice place to eat. Food was really very good. Hotel also looks nice so would think about staying there for future visits.

A group of us had lunch here on a Sunday on our way back from holidaying in Brockenhurst. The service was good and fairly quick and the food wasn't bad, although the desserts was just slices cut from pre-made and bought-in cakes/pies rather than home-made pub grub. The garden is lovely for sitting and playing with the kids as there... More

Pulling up after a long drive we nearly drove on seeing the outside decor, so glad we didn't! 6 of us enjoyed lunch and drinks in the garden, reasonable prices for good food and wine. Sat in the pub garden that had ample of room. Staff were very friendly and pub had a lovely atmosphere.

Having arranged to meet friends holidaying nearby for a meal I did not know quite what to expect after reading recent reviews. But tonyinbrighton is spot on in his assessment. There is nothing particularly bad about the place although it would not miss a bit of TLC to freshen up the inside. The beer selection is poor compared to other... More

I live nearby and have never been into this pub before but decided to give it a try at lunchtime a few weeks ago. It has been under new management for about six weeks. My first impression of the bar is that it is a bit lacklustre. It needs to be made more welcoming. We ordered pate and toast with... More

We only dropped in for a quick drink and a light lunch, and it was quite late too (about 3:00pm). Pretty quiet in there and not much atmosphere - one of those pubs where there is nothing particular to dislike but no compelling reason to return....... Quite a good sized garden at the rear which would be fine for children

Whilst on a short break in the New Forest we cycled to the Crown Stirrup as we had done a year before. We went expecting the same level of service and quality of food as we had previously had, obviously should have read the reviews on here first. Anyway the food was dreadful, microwaved and overpriced, the beer was cloudy... More

After reading the recent reviews we were really excited about visiting this pub! Stay away we wish we had! There was only 3 other customers in the pub when we arrived whom I presume we're locals. One of which was clearly drink and swearing loudly in the bar area. Anyway it was lovely weather so we ordered and sat outside!... More

Have only been to the Crown Stirrup twice but have loved it both times, the first time was for a car club breakfast meet and had the best bacon roll ever, but on the second visit also for a car club breakfast meet had a full breakfast which was divine, can wait for the evening meet which is coming up...
