Love this place! Get "The Pile" to share. Fried Chicken Plate and Southern Veggie Plate were awesome - as were the Jalapeno Cheddar Hush Puppies. Lots of character. Outside seating - area with and without plastic walls and heat. We sat outside on a beautiful day. Dog friendly - there were probably 4 dogs outside and they bring your dog... More

The atmosphere is lovely with outside patio dining (heated during the winter!). The servers are friendly, and food is good. Great selection of beers from NC and elsewhere. Grilled Pimento Cheese is amazing...!

Went on my birthday with friends for dinner & drinks. Had the BEST old fashioned I've ever tasted. Very skilled bartender. Also shared the special of the day a "blackeyed pea cake" like a crab cake, but with peas instead of crab... delicious! Amazing salad on the side & shared a dripping cheesy Reuben with my pal. Had incredible banana... More

We went on a weeknight early in the week but it was still very crowded. We waited a while to be seated and then were seated outside in a heated section of the patio. My friends had the fried chicken, I had macaroni and cheese, and we all had the jalapeno hushpuppies and fried green tomatoes. The service was good,... More

A dismal night at a previously recommended restaurant. Waited 45 minutes only to have them give away our table to another group that had arrived after us. Then rushed the pasta and it was undercooked. Very disorganized staff. I won't be back.

We were a large group and ate outside. It was very noisy and with the heaters turned on there was a bad gasoline smell -- without the heaters it was cold. Everyone liked their food and the waitress was wonderful. A good place for family dining -- but not for quiet conversation.

Geer Street Garden is my favorite place to have a drink when the weather is nice. The atmosphere and cheese tray can't be beat!

We like to support Durham, we live here, and we play here. With that, we feel downtown's dining scene has livened up considerably than what it use to be. Geer Street Garden is a very good choice for a casual occasion. Four of us journeyed here on a weekend night. They do not take reservations unless it is a group... More

We came with a large group for a birthday, and for our server, it had to be chaotic. Lots of shared appetizers; lots of drinks, dinner, and then cake at the end. The appetizers were great, but my fish tacos had bones in the filets and limp tasteless tortillas - the only downside. The service is what really made this... More

Neighborhood restaurant enjoyed by diners of all ages. The food has great, fresh ingredients with options for vegetarians. Do not miss dessert! Can't wait to return for another visit.
