I have eaten at the Weathervane Cafe many times under the prior ownership. This was our first time under the new ownership and the Sunday Brunch was not a positive experience. The dish that I had hoped to order; a duck confit, was one of several dishes that were no longer available from the menu. My wife's eggs benedict included... More

Well, three weeks ago the pimento cheese fritters and the fried green tomatoes were perfect. The kitchen at the Weathervane was clearly on its game. Today, a simple BLT was shoe leather. The Weathervane's menu, quality, and execution shift with the wind, turning first this way, then that. And like the weather, you can talk about it, but apparently there's... More

Good place for drinks and brunch on the weekends. Kind of hidden away in a shopping center in Chapel Hill, but worth the effort. We found this by word of mouth. Check it out!

We had our son's rehearsal dinner on May 3rd at the Weathervane. It was a group of 60 people and was set up for a cocktail hour on the outdoor patio and dinner inside. When we first looked at the venue as a potential location the outside patio was nice but nothing special. When we arrived the night of the... More

One of my favorite stops in the RTP area is A Southern Season. It is an epicurean's delight to shop the variety of food items and kitchen gadgets and equipment, as well as linens, service ware, etc. I could spend hours in that store. Curiously enough, they have a very good restaurant and bar attached to the store. I've had... More

Top notch chefs and great service in a comfortable atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of creative tasty dishes. Dine outside when weather permits or in the bar area. Stop in A Southern Season for a gourmet treat or a gift. A Chapel Hill destination.

We actually enjoyed dining at Weathervane when it (and A Southern Season) was in its former location simply because the ambience was spectacular. The food is still great, and it's still necessary to budget half an hour after dining to stroll through A Southern Season, but the original charm didn't transfer.

Our lunch experience at the Weathervane leaves us wanting more! We love all of the local ingredients highlighted, but most of all, love how they taste when used in appetizers & entrees. It was difficult to choose between such wonderful sandwiches and other entrees for lunch. Even the cocktails were impressive. The service was not lacking. We were well attended... More

I got married on March 16, 2013 and we had our wedding and reception at the Weathervane. We were very pleased and happy with our service. Our wedding was on the patio of the restaurant and it turned out beautiful and our reception was upstair in the Mezz room. Our dinner was excellant and the service was great. I would... More
