We have the Black Bear in Morgantown, WV, which is based on the Black Cat. We were excited to come here. Overall good experience. Food was good and staff was very accomodating. Only complaints are that it is very small and cramped, and not kid friendly. Also, we were seated in an area that was hit directly by the setting... More

I went to Black Cat maybe 10 years ago and the food was really good. Moved back to Boone recently and tried them again and had pretty much the polar opposite experience. The place was dirty, service was mediocre, and the food was so BLAND. I was really surprised and thought maybe I just went on a bad day or... More

The food was pretty good here. I had a "build-your-own-burrito" and my boyfriend had the fish tacos. We also had chips and salsa. The chips were excellent! The salsa was fresh and tasty. My burrito was good, but the fish tacos were the star. Perfectly cooked fish (no breading) and the tortillas were browned just right. Definitely worth a stop... More

Really good food but the place is kind of dirty though. I've seen flies in there!! And I also don't like the fact that the waitress just threw my chips in the bag.

Everybody in our party of 6 enjoyed their meal. You order prior to sitting and your food is brought out to you. We had the sample salsa and chips, which was very tasty. The burritos were giant, and most of us could not finish, though we wanted to because it was so good. Is also reasonably priced- for aps, drinks,... More

If we're anywhere close to Boone, we make a point to stop in Black Cat for lunch. Personally we think it's that good...satay it to me softly and white trash burritos with tofu are personal favorites. Nothing fancy, just a reasonably priced burrito place with a decent beer selection.

The food was decent but what really won me over was the ginger ale on tap!! Standard fare burrito place.

The burritos are large and reasonably priced ($7ish) for the delicious, fresh ingredients used. If you are just wanting a snack, I recommend the chips and mango salsa- which is only $2 or $3. On most days the service is above average, but don't expect to be waited on hand and foot. Overall, a great price for the food you... More

A fantastic locally owned restaurant with great food and an excellent beer selection. My favorite: Thai me up with shrimp and sampler (guac, queso and salsa).

Stopped here for a late lunch one evening. the burritos are massive. i had ordered a side of chips and salsa which I found was not necessary. they give you enough on your plate to snack on. I had the enchiladas and they were some of the best I have ever had.
