We visit Lake Placid once a month and never miss an opportunity to eat at Liquids and Solids. The menu is a sight to behold. Every item offered, whether beverage or food is creative and DELICIOUS. They pair the most unusual ingredients and produce something spectacular time after time. The menu changes frequently and is seasonal and local. We really... More

We started the drive up to Lake Placid pretty late so by the time we arrived, this was the only place open (at 10:30pm) which was truly a blessing. What a great spot for foodies! Each dish was unique and delicious and something we don't think we'd find elsewhere. (e.g. oysters topped with pulled pork -YUM!) Our waitress was so... More

Went to this place the evening after going to "The View" restaurant I am telling this place has nothing to envy. Food was fabulous with a touch of inspiration from "the Pied de Cochon" restaurant in Montreal. I had the Pigs head it was full of flavor, texture was number one. Maybee I should of passed on the bacon chocolate... More

When travelling, we have discovered that the single best way to find great places to eat and drink is to ask servers in other restaurants/bars where they like to go when not working. In Lake Placid it seemed that an ongoing theme was a place called Liquids and Solids. So we had to try it. Just a bit off of... More

Based on the many good reviews my husband and I decided to try it. Friday dinner hour was very busy and we waited half an hour to get our drinks. Food wasn't presented like we thought, again based on others reviews. Brussel sprouts were served plopped into what looked like a cereal bowl. Orange and beet salad had a weird... More

We were here on a Friday night when some of the high end places were closed. Hotel suggested this place, so we figured we would try it out. They have a great beer selection but my wife and decided to try a few of the interesting mixed drinks. Good decision. I had the Maple and Spice and my wife had... More

The food was amazing and well presented. Coming from Montreal, we tought that the price was totally affordable specially for the quality of the food. The place is well decorated and the ambiance is very good. The waitress was really helpful. I would defenitly go back :-)

I just returned from dinner here and felt compelled to write about it. The menu is wonderful for those who enjoy trying different ingredients prepared in unique combinations. The Beet and Orange Salad was a very tasty starter. I couldn't place the cheese and herbs topping it but the combination of flavours really worked well. The Foie Gras, Onion Bread... More

Went here with a friend. I've been here before and it was very good but from just looking at the menu I could tell that this restaurant has matured since my last visit about a year ago. A note to the penny pinchers, this is not a restaurant where it is easy to get off with a cheap dinner, especially... More

I have been so tired of the same old menus. L & S is something different. The liquids menu is full of interesting sounding mixed drinks and a lengthy list of bottled (canned) beers from micros and nanos everywhere. Then there is the food: reading the menu which basically lists the ingredients of each dish, it is somewhat hard to... More
